Hello to all and Happy Easter,

I have been fascinated with folders since my father gave me my first penknife as a child.
I just purchased my first Emerson knife, the CQC-7B part serrated in a satin finish yesterday.
And what a wow factor and loving everything about this knife so far and the history behind.
Apart from my sore thumb

Welcome Gulo69 and greetings to all,
a great first choice on that 7B. just don't think for a minute, it will be your one and only. time to think about your next Emerson right about now. Best regards to you and all the forum folks.
Mike

Welcome! The 7B is one of my favorites! Enjoy it and use it!

Oh and post some pictures!

Welcome to the fold! That's a great choice for a first Emerson. Enjoy it! And put up some pics.

Nice! I like that watch too, what is it?

Any idea what you wantfor the next Emerson?

Congrats, you picked a hell of a knife. One of the best folders out there.

Don't take it apart, don't lube it and be patient with it breaking in. Don't screw with it, don't pry with it and don't loan it. With the Emerson warranty and services It can last you a lifetime. :)

Yeah, what's your next one?

EDIT: Just noticed your location. How does the Emerson fit with knife-life there??

Hello MIGUY and thank you.

The watch is a Breitling Colt 2 and "Hahaha" give us a chance mate, I have only had it since yesterday.
Originally I wanted the plain edge, which were sold out in the UK.
And only two of the part serrated were available here, which I purchased one with no regret.

Hello EChoil and thank you.

I don't intend to, so I will carry on till my thumb drops off.
I do admit that it is stiff and I need to drag the blade across to snap it open.
apart from that, it is a tad slightly off centred but hopefully all will fall into place once this Beauty of a Beast has been broken in.
Well I do have to be careful as it does not fall as a UK legal EDC "LOL".

Gulo69,

Welcome to the forum! Part serrated Emersons are my favorite of all the knives out there, and I think it will grow on you.

Lay low and carry your Emerson with pride!

Nice! The 7 is the only Emerson you need but the Commander needs a look too.
Welcome!

Welcome Gulo! I can tell you have good taste, as any emerson fan I know; welcome to the madness! For some reason those serrations look different to me, but I am not a fan of serrations on my blades, even though they are super useful; anyway, that is a great looking 7, congratulations.

Thank you makariotes,

I grabbed the serrated CQC-7 before that went too, otherwise I would of opted for the plain edge.
You mentioned that the serrations looked different, in which way you think?

You're welcome; the serrations look more refined, almost machined, I had a super commander serrated and they didn't look like that; maybe I'm just tripping and it's the angle of the blade; I don't know, they look very nice. Now I'm going to start with CQC7 obsession, and will probably blame it on you:). What a nice knife! I never had one.

Emersons aren't good "snappers" if you mean flicking it open fast, but the main thing is give it time to break in. After that you can tweak it if it still needs something.

Yeah be careful with it up there. I'd hate to see it go to the Crown. Charles would never give it back.

Not to worry, that is what I shall do, just give it time to break in naturally.
"Hahaha" Yes they would probably use it to Knight people with?

I was looking at the commander as well, but all sold out, with a long wait time amongst a group of other fine Emersons too.

The Commander blade, serrated, is the perfect all-around EDC blade. imo.
