Emerson or spyderco ?

I am starting to collect folding knives I have 2 spydercos and 4 emersons.I would like your guys opinions on whitch brand should I invest my money into its a hard choice for me since I like both.

I like Emersons the best. IMHO they are the best production knives out there and they just feel great in your hand when you use them.

Thanks for the input guys.I thought spyderco is a good choice because they are allways using the best blade steels and offer a veriaty of styles.Not many companies offer aus8a,vg-10,zdp,s30v ect. For example emerson only uses 154cm.

Those steels are good steels but they are not better than 154cm. 154cm is so field friendly as S30V and ZDP 189 are not.

As I am sure you have already figured it out, both companies make quality tools. For me there are many Spyderco knives which I love but when it comes down to it Emerson wins out for defense while Spyderco utility. This is not to say that Spyderco does not make quality defensive knives because they do but personally I favor the Emerson full-size Commander and Combat Karamit (among with others from Emerson) simply because it fits me well in many ways. From a collector point of view I gravitate to Spyderco.

Any ways why limit yourself to one company? Go with what makes you feel good instead.

Those steels are good steels but they are not better than 154cm. 154cm is so field friendly as S30V and ZDP 189 are not.

According to charts for example vg-10 does everything 154cm does just a hair better.

Yes it's to hard of choice for me I like them both.I just wanted opinion on which to buy first if I was a millionaire I would buy both catalogs right now.

agree the new ones do but there are thousands of the old ones floating around, some in LNIB shape.

spyderco has made several with 1 liner FWIW, the starmate for one.
