Emersons as EDC?

How different is sharpening/stropping a v-ground Emerson? Heck, how would one begin to?

Get one, it's no different from sharpening anyother knife. Either a person know how to sharpen or they don't.

Update: ordered a mini CQC-15. I'm all pumped now - I thought that the 15 and the commander were on and the same, but, once I saw the less-pronounced recurve and tanto tip I knew it was the compromise I was looking for.

Only Emerson I have is a Mini-Commander. Got it used but I love that damn thing.

Congratulations! I plan to pick up a CQC-15 today.
I have somewhat ambivalent feelings about Emersons. I love the designs and ergonomics (that man knows how to make a handle!), but feel I could get better materials and attention to detail for the price. Add in my deep hatred of chisel grinds, and you'll understand why it takes me forever to pull the trigger on one.

I reground my Persian to a nice symmetrical convex edge and LOVE it, but it was a long process and I don't like having to work on a brand new knife (and a pricey one at that) before I can enjoy it.
