i bought a few Emerson cqc-8's a few years ago and they had the chisel ground blade. Does Emerson still use this chisel grind or have they changed it to a V grind? also if it is still a chisel does anyone know what angle they use so i can sharpen it better? im having such a tough time getting it right on my older emersons.

They have a chisel edge and a v ground main bevel on the cqc 8. My mini cqc 8 had an edge angle of a little more the 30 degrees, so I just profiled it down to 30 degrees.

Every single emerson has a chisel cutting edge, it's only ground on one side. The actual blade grind is either chisel or V, depends on the model. I'm not sure on the angle.

It isn't hard to sharpen, I mean it's only ground on one side. You sharpen it by practicing matching the angle to whatever implement you decide to use. There are tips on youtube and in the MTE subforum on here. It's been a consistent topic for years.
