Emersons new website sucks

You guys are right, I was very frustrated when I wrote that.

My buddy had called me and said "the Patriot must have been discontinued, it's not on their website anymore. I can only find about 4 knives listed on the site, what happened to all the rest of them??"

Then, I went & looked at the site. I had not seen the new design before and when I looked at it quickly I could see EXACTLY what he meant.

A first time user looking at the new site would have no clue that all the other knives that Emerson carries are hidden under that little three line thing on a hidden sub menu.

I apologize if I hurt anybody's feelings with my original post, but I still think the site is poorly designed for a first time user (seems to me that all the inventory should be readily visible to a user not used to looking through the site)

I was able I navigate easily on both the mobile and desktop version after the site update. It really isn't that hard and can't understand how you were having so much trouble. Regardless, we'd all appreciate more tact on your part. You are entitled to your opinion of course, but express it like an adult.

That would be the problem right there. Windows 8.xx and IE just plain sucks. ;)

The web-site it new, I like the design, I am no computer guru, but was able to navagate it.

I know you semi-apologized for your anger but words like these are hurtful and don't belong here. My wife is on these forums and just got around to looking at this thread. Didn't you take that into consideration at all? I wanted to let this go but after re-reading your first post I don't have it in me. You realize that this is the EMERSON forum and I am the moderator here, who also works hand and hand with them. I wouldn't walk into your house and tell you your decor sucks and you have shitty taste would I? It's called manners. I won't apologize for sticking up for my wife who puts her heart and soul into this company 7, yes 7 days a week.

I think the website looks good kudos to your wife. It's hard to come up with a design that's not boring but still flows. She did pretty good on it.

I wasn't gonna my to chime in but feel the need too.

The op did not make that comment with the knowledge that your wife, or anyone specifically would have their feelings hurt. Was it a knee jerk comment? Yes. But your analogy of going into his house and saying his decor sucks isn't the same thing.

He could have been more tactful but I think you are taking it too personally.

Btw, tell your wife we all appreciate her efforts freshening up the site!!

The analogy makes perfect sense. He came on to the Emerson subforum and blatantly insulted their website. Either way it's rude.

And the site works great for me and looks nice too.

To the OP. If you want to see the desktop site on your mobile all you need to do is go into the browser settings and check the box that says request desktop site.

Maybe your just frustrated with your surface and windows 8? Just kidding.:D
 
Unfortunately common sense isn't that common anymore. Tired of seeing people say things behind a computer screen that would not be said face to face or even over the phone. Emerson Rep please close this one out!
 
I'm going to leave it open for now as an example. Some people just need to count to 10 before going online.

Understood and I agree with the way you are viewing it. Not cool coming into the house of Emerson and spewing filth everywhere. However, sometimes the first step to forgiveness is realizing the other person is an idiot.
