Emotional Damage... dropped my 113

I had a toenail I thought I could save once. It came off too. It might be easier to glue and clamp this piece now. Don't sand this material, probably make is worse. Isn't there a better glue than super glue, maybe gorilla glue?

You could leave the piece out, sand the notched part smooth, and coat it with gloss black paint for a "soup bone" look.

Super glue shouldn't be under estimated. It is good glue. It is made of Cyanoacrylate which is why it's called Super glue. It comes in three thicknesses at hobby dealers. What you are looking for is the thin runny thickness. It almost runs like water. BE CAREFUL with it. I can't tell you how many times I've glued my fingers together! Seriously. Two things will help neutralize it but maybe not fully. Acetone or fingernail polish remover. Nothing works as well as those two things if you get it where you don't want it. I've spent twenty years helping students with it in Science Olympiad building events.

Just a small note to add: the reason why some fingernail polish removers dissolve super glue bonds is because they contain acetone. Modern nail polish removers do not always contain acetone, so the solvent they do have may not be as effective as acetone.

Quite correct. Thank you.

Don't try Gorilla Glue it does not adhere at all, Forgot what I was trying to fix. Let it sit and the first time I tried to see if it fixed what I had used it on it came apart. Got Super Glue and that held.

I meant Guerrilla not Gorilla. Big difference. (Martin Short in Captain Ron) 😀

I usually buy cheap dollar store Super Glue. It probably pays to buy the name brand.

I keep super glue in my first aid kit. Drives my wife crazy.
Yep. Same here.

New Skin Liquid Bandage Spray is good as well.
...... sheet metal workers can come up with some nasty cuts. Especially when working with stainless.

....and folks say stainless "aint sharp". Oh yeah it is.

I wasn't aware of the baking soda/super glue trick.
Good to know.

Thanks Guys!

Anyone who didn't get it without the Martin Short reference, doesn't deserve to know. :D
