Empire Strikes Again!

Those are some outstanding knives! I really like the jigged bone, you don’t see them like that anymore and they are still perfect!

Nice thread revival, Charlie. Beautiful knives all, but i am especially partial to the sleeveboard with the old pick bone and the fantastic fat spear blade.:thumbsup:

This gent's Jack is a nice one to use to wake up this Empire thread!! The Empire indeed Strikes Again!!
It must be fun thinking up blade etches to entice customers, and probably easy to do when you have nice knives to sell!!
"Our Winner" must appeal to a certain segment of society: CEOs, leaders of industry, politicians, poker players; dreamers like you and me!!?? ;)🤣
This one suffers from age more than wear, but the goodness shows through!!Pearl Jack Winner 1.jpgPearl Jack Winner 2.jpgPearl Jack Winner 3.jpg
Both tangs stamped, nice swedges, corny etch 😏 ; all imply pre-WWI! Nice pocket knife at a bit over 3 1/8" in length!!

The Mail brought me this nice Horn Jack today!! I traded straight across for it, and it has nice flat-finished handles and Bolsters!! Both blades are stamped, with a full but faint etch remaining! Nearly 3 3/8", it's nicely sized for any day of the week!! ;)
Empire made a lot of nice knives for several companies!!Flat Horn Jack 1.jpgFlat Horn Jack 2.jpg
These horn Handles fared very well!! Often you will see them slightly shrunk or curled, but these are perfect!! Not bad for a knife made near WWI !!

This is a great thread to read - only 3 pages worth; but it contains some nice cutlery! And History!!
Here is a picture of my old collection, which has surfaced and is headed to the Oregon Knife Show this year!!!For Sale.jpg

Charlie- I can see years of Hunting on that amazing Board, ( is it public knowledge who owns this - as I understand about confidentialities ?)

I think we touched on it that the guy who purchased this unfortunately passed away, so obviously another very lucky person has picked this up.

I always love looking back at this and see you purchasing a knife and you know exactly where it is going to go on that board!

Charlie - did you make that cabinet- or was it an original Empire find?

Charlie, you must be looking forward to seeing your old Empire collection at the Oregon show !
Great knives in this thread
I'll add my 2 examples.

This senator displays exquisite craftsmanship, sunk joints, file worked liners top and bottom, smooth and snappy blades with fiery pearl.

3 5/8" teardrop, the blades have a brushed finish that someone left behind after they cleaned it. A good one to carry;)20200802_075637.jpg

Now I am really disappointed not to be able to make the show this year! Would love to see that display in person.

Great Empires, Rob. Love them both.👍
