Empire Strikes Again!

Wow - beautiful old time capsule you have there! Sure is a lotta meat on those old bones. I'm jealous as all get out.

P.S. thanks for the oohs and aahs everyone!!
I said stuff like that when I saw it!!

What a beauty Charlie. With such a strong spring I wonder how the blade edge doesn't chip?

The knife oozes Olde worlde, love the shape of the blade! A real neat find.

Russell

Charlie Scores AGAIN !! What a score it is, and it's kickless to boot

What are the scales Charlie. Cocoboblo?

So far, it's chipless in Vancouver, Navi!!

I thanke Ye moste Kindly, Sir Rusty One!

Coke's bad for ya, John!!

Looks like Cocobobble, 4ever3!!

:D:D:D:D
It's nice to be back at the forum I tells ya!!
Vacations are good, but knives are better!!!;)

That is one hell of a drop-dead gorgeous knife! Too bad it's kickless, but if that's the way it was made there's not much to be done about it. :)

Seriously, that main blade is on hell of a looker.

I am sure glad to see the smilie. Only a barbarian would want to put a kick on that wonderful blade. There was a designer who knew how to stuff 9 pounds of blade into a 5 poound handle. Too bad we will never know his name.

You always had a way with words, A.G!!!
Glad you like the knife!! Are we gonna see that pattern as an A.G. Russell special???:D

Time to Rip Van Winkle this thread!

Why you say?? Well, Terrible Tom sent me another find from Winsted. This gunstock is 3 5/8", and worn some, but still retains a nice presence. Check out that old jigged bone, which is still in perfect shape, and is now a nice mellow color.
I don't know why I like such "loud" markings on a knife - I guess it reflects a real pride in the production of it! Look at Me! Look at Me!!
Nicely made and still snappy after all these years. . . . . . . . . .:D

Thought I would post this one to show a different endcap mark (and also how much prettier Charlie's is than mine). I picked this one up a while back and it is beat all to hell....but that means I can use it without worrying about screwing it up ;)

That is an ideal carry pattern Charlie. Craftmanship at it's best. Wish we could buy them like that new today.
Greg

The person who carried yours really preferred the pen blade Campbell. Nicely "rounded" knife!!
It IS a nice carry pattern, Greg. Even when the blades are worn, they won't "peek" (show the tip) for a lot of miles.
