Employeer issued knife

When I went to work as a shipping clerk I was provided with two packing knives. These were sort of like modified kitchen knives. One had a straight 4 inch blade that was cut off square at the tip (no point at all). The other had a 4 inch blade that started out straight and then angled back at 30 degrees to a point. It was interesting that these were not disposable knives, but it was even more interesting that my work bench came with an oil stone and a can of oil. I kept those suckers sharp.

R. Murphy has similar knives these days in their shoe and leather line. They are usually categorized as "shoe knives". http://www.rmurphyknives.com/ShoeKnives.htm

The only employer who ever issued me a knife was the US Air Force in 1967. It was a Camillus Combat knife. I broke about three of them. That was when I was with the 56th Special Operations Wing. Later I traded the combat to a guy for the pilot survival knife and I never broke it.

There is a lot of civil liability tort for an employer who gives an implement to someone who takes it home and attacks someone with it...

Yes, I work for the AirForce on multi-million dollar aircraft and they make me use a piece of garbage called a "Grandpa" and we are not allowed to use our own knives at work (legaly):D.
