employment

Ive been a DJ with a small, local mobile DJ company for the last 3 years.
Im also a full time student pursuing my BA in Criminal Justice. 1 more year of that, then its off to the police academy.

I run a Stone fabrication shop on long island, ny. I program a waterjet and a cnc router. We do residential and commercial work. My other hobbies are shooting and riding my motorcycle. Both of which have been put aside since my son was born last month.

i do telemarketing for a company that specializes in fundraising for political groups. apparently i'm like the scum of the earth or something but i didn't know that until i started this job.

I do many things but I mostly sell cool gear to cool people like you folks here.

Great thread! Always great to have such vast differences in lifestyles and work all interested in the same thing.

For me: Im a General Manager at a small Casino in Sacramento. I work for a Company that owns many Casinos in California and I hace had the pleasure of being part of the setup/consultant for four of them before being able to settle down and call one place home. Aside from the type of job I have I'm a country guy at heart and try and get away as much as possibile to get away from a extremely fast paced environment. I'm trying to be a good example to my growing family (son 3 and daughter 1 month old) and a good husband to my wife of 9 years.

I am always getting teased for my blade carry at work (my guards have sidearms), but there isn't a day goes by that someone hasnt asked to use one of my EDC knifes for something practical (to that my reply is "get ur own!"). Already showed my head of security the Hest Folder and looking at getting 6 or so for their duty carry :D

graphic artist experienced in all kinds of print media from business cards to billboards. also have done patent cut files for laser cutters, waterjets, CNC routers and vinyl plotters application drawings and dimensioned drawings, art for screenprinting shirts or electronics equipment, etc..

currently out of work because of vision problems, so i'm working on designing some gun parts and tools for guns, tools for motorcycles and working on designing some typefaces. hope to have some of the tools and parts in production next year.

i wrench on motorcycles and guns for fun, shoot guns when i can afford to burn ammo.

if you need a logo, flyer, brochure, package or advertising i do that stuff when i find clients. if you have a napkin sketch of a knife that you want turned into a cut file to make blanks on a waterjet i can do that too.

I sell things that move dirt. Bulldozers, Wheel Loaders, Excavators, Articulated Dump Trucks,

Still playing with toys they just got bigger and more expensive.

I'm a firmware engineer mostly writing in C. I also program GUI tools for the company using VB6, C#, VB.NET or C++.

Hobbies. I like camping, hunting, fishing, reading, looking at bladeforums (Mostly a lurker, but I post once in a while), gaming... Too many hobbies, I guess :-)

I hunt ninjas for a living. Track them down and using my amazing stealth and cunning, along with the highest tech, cutting edge tools, weapons and gear, I dispatch them before they can do their evil bidding.

That and I do pest control on the side, just to keep busy. Only so many ninjas ya know.

hunt ninjas ... pest control ... same thing :D

I'm a full time student at The University of Alabama currently. My major is General Health Studies/Human Environmental Sciences. After I get my bachelors degree next year I'm hoping to be a pharmaceutical rep.

I'm a freight forwarder, currently specializing in exports, but i move it in, out and throughout the us. if it's on the map i'll haul your crap

I am the applications engineer for an OEM company that sells systems for ultrasonic metal welding. We were hurting a couple years ago when the auto industry took a nosedive but have recently surged back due to the uptake in the new 'green' industry for battery assisted cars. Actually, a lot of companies are taking the advantage of spending their money now while they still have it. Next year for them is a big question mark . . .

Current hobbies are handling and sheathing knives, shooting my old commie pot metal guns - as my dad calls them - when I can (I have a C&R) and when I am really in a relax mode I paint ORKS! for Warhammer 40K gaming. Am in the process of thinning the herd on my guitars and amps, they're like knives and guns - you can never have too many!

Mike

PS - this reply looks like I should have put it in the intro thread! Cheers!

I drive a truck, but not an ordinary truck driver. I drive for a mining supply company, so my loads mainly consist of about 40,000lbs of various explosives. Ranging from ANFO, Blastex, various forms of dynamite, Detcord and blasting caps. It still seems odd when the local PD buys things to make breaching charges from us. Needless to say its always a pain in the ass with the TSA when Im at an airport PETN doesnt come out of your clothes and anything you wash with it is then contaminated also(learned that the hard way).
