J. told me this thread had quite a few replies and I ought to add my two cents. Can you tell I avoid the computer? Anyway, thanks for all the great compliments. On this one, I didn't use any padding, although I sometimes do. The emu was a little on the thick, crinkly side. After flattening it under a stack of books for two days and watching all the bends re-form, I opted to not make my life any more difficult. (Sorry George)
Chuck, I have in the past used foam padding from the fabric store trimmed very thin and I was recently told to try foam packaging material. I have some that I will be trying soon. But I would love to hear the tricks of the trade from someone who obviously knows what he is doing and has probably tried many different materials. Helpful advise is always appreciated.
