You seem to be mistaken. I never complained about anything. I simply stated that doing as the OP asked and allowing search for everybody would not get his desired result, there would likely still be a lot of repeat questions and topics primarly from newer posters.

I don't know why you thought I was complaing about anything regarding this particular forum.

Besides, like I said, that's how they all are. Where would I go if I had a problem with it? lol
 
I really enjoy all the new threads that are similar questions to others. These forums would be boring without them.

When I first came here I asked all the questions that I see the other noobs asking. I don't mind one bit, because I was once there. If you don't like it, don't look at the threads. I'll continue to respond in order to welcome the new members and make them feel welcome.

Anyhow - welcome to the forums, I hope you enjoy yourself here. Take a deep breath, my friend.
 
Repeat topics due often ensure that the more opinions possible are heard. Just because it has been asked before, relatively recently, that does not mean you won't learn more from having it again.

And for those who DO search it makes for more results. :)
 
On another forum I used to help administer the exact same situation existed. Search was available to anyone but still noobs would turn up and ask the exact same questions every time.

I went to the trouble of creating a special thread and made it a sticky at the top of every sub forum. This thread was, basically, a FAQ. It listed all the usual questions followed by a link to the answer. Lot of people found it useful but still the noobs would turn up and ask the same questions, completely ignoring the thread with the links. Most people are lazy, (and some are downright stupid). Such is life. Thus it is on this forum as it is on other forums.

Thus it was, thus it is and thus it shall always be.

"Basic member" is hardly paying in my book, but I could care less. I don't think he was questioning your "honesty," I think he was questioning your sanity. First off for posting in GD, and second for whining about something you already have. :rolleyes:

as a member who has been here forever I can say that when the search function was for non paying members we had just as many people posting for recomendations...directions,, how to...as we do now. Search will not be enabled for non paying members. That is the way it is..nothing can be changed ..this is sparks sandbox he lets you play in it..

BTW just so you know..a person with around 200 posts in my book is still a noob...but enjoy yourself here..its a fun place...

Rofl, you're kidding me right? First of all, I love these forums and I know what a blessing sparks has given us. A wealth of information, good fun and great people are all found here. That is why I assumed that one can still post a thread here without everyone jumping down my throat but apparently that's not the case anymore.

I simply posted an observation from my perspective and the next thing I know I get nothing but attitude--even having my integrity questioned--and then I'm the one that gets asked to chill? Seriously.

BTW just so you know...a person such as myself with a career and a sex-life simply doesn't have the time to write thousands of posts on a forum....enjoy!

About the only person I see displaying an "attitude" here is you, or are you simply annoyed that others would dare to express an opinion that differs from yours?

Perhaps an important person such as yourself with not only a career but a sex life, unlike anyone else here, should never have to suffer the indignity of lesser mortals disagreeing with them.
