end caps for knives that are not threaded

Hello,

Does anyone know where to buy a end cap or but cap for the end of the handle that is not threaded. I am trying to make a knive with the stock removal method and want to add a slotted cap on the end. I am looking at a old western hunting knife with a cap on the end that has a curve.

I think you will probably have to make it yourself. Just do it like you would a guard. It sounds like the slot will just be smaller.

I have only made two such end caps so far...both were made out of carrage bolts

you could try to soulder a wood screw to the butt cap.

You could also get a matching tap and die set and thread the cap and thread the end of the tang and do it that way.
