The sheaths were donated to HI, so your entire $20 payment goes to help the kamis with medical costs.

Thank you for the KMFR sheath pix, Steve

Did you score one of these Gehazi? In all the confusion I couldn't tell if you actually got one or not. Fingers crossed for you friend.
I think the KMFR Sheaths are really nice.

yessir i did ! , I think #2 is mine, i sent payment before asking if #1 was available , so was easy just to put me down for the next, I have actually been told that my farm knife is going to be stolen by my brother, so my KVLUK will probably be my tool of choice for a spell!-- love the steel on these, like the unfinished look and those asare handles -- ( can anyone tell me what asare wood is exactly? maybe neem wood?)

Pretty sure it's NOT Neem. But I can't say for sure. Seems Auntie said not long ago the couldn't use Neem? But I might have my woods mixed up too.

Your brother could have a difficult time stealing your Farm knife if your holding it in your hand.

I have no idea what asare "is", but it is a hard, tough, oil-thirty wood. My KLVUK drank and drank and drank boiled linseed oil. It's become one of my favorite work blades. I also have an Udda sword that has a finished asare handle that practically glows.

Actually, after I finish the holster I'm working on, it's going to be a toss up as to whether my Farm Knife or KLVUK gets a new pair of pants first.

I am certain boiled linseed oil is a religious experience when it contacts wood in many over applied coats-- my R-10 with maple handle already looks stunning, the grain is like a painting , I have an old chanda ank kola i got for my old man back in 2000 that is just now showing fine lines. yeah all i could find on asare is that its probably from the asare region, looks a lot like white oak .

Alangium salvifolium, local name "Asare".

Alangium salviifolium... In Asia Alangium wood is used in building as beams, for flooring, furniture, cabinet work, inlaying, carving, bobbins, spindles, shuttles, rice pestles, tool handles, walking sticks, gunstocks and handicraft articles. The twigs are used for brushing the teeth in India... it air dries well without checking, works well, bends easily and takes a good finish.
