End of the month deals

I'm surprised the Chainpuri is still around. I'd grab it, but I'm holding off for now and I'm also waiting for a 1 oz per inch to come along when I do have the money. That one is close, but I can wait.

I did get the hasiya if I did not say, I will probably get it pants in the same fashion as my last one-- though I have been waiting a long time for a horn handle !!!! very excited about this

I shouldn't have said anything, now I'm tempted. Maybe something good will come along when I get my tax refund. I'm a student, and my summer job was enough to get me some money, but not enough to be taxed, even if the University took money straight from my paycheck to pay taxes. So I'll just be filing a return showing I didn't make much, get my money back, buy one kukri, and put the rest in savings.

I also have a 18 inch Chainpuri from Chainpuri which is 22 ounce i believe, I Love both but i would hold off for the magic 1=1 khuk.

The Chainpuri I have in transit now is 18in and 19oz.... That's close enough for me in the inch per once game. I cant wait to try some form work and custom strikes I have been working on with lightweight kukris. Its a reverse draw cuts with the spine resting on the back side of the foearm and the weak hand supporting your strong hand to "push" through the soft stuff. You use you body instead of your arms to make the cut. Its all in the hips... just like golf.

I'm not sure if its considered a real draw cut but a tremendous amount of force can be attained by using your entire forearm to "back the blade" and both hands pushing and supporting the handle. You can put you entire body weight behind the cut. It provides EXTREMELY deep cuts... enough to sever a limb or head.

I had attempted this technique with my Bujinkan katana but the tsuba was to large and the balance wasn't right.

I have had great success with this cut using longer, lighter weight kukri's. The heavy ones wont work with this technique, and shorter kukris wont fly either. The best kukris for this cut are 17.5+ in length and they have to be under 24 ounces or the blade tends to work the hands to much.

I am anxiously awaiting my Chainpuri to test this cut out. I wrapped the sides of my hallway door frame with cardboard and foam to test the cutting power, striking ability and speed of the strikes. I can get some pretty damn deep cuts with this cut... enough to go through about 9inches of foam wrapped with cardboard, and packing tape. It literally went through all that material with enough force to leave a inch deep cut into my wooden door frames. The wifey came home while I was in the midst of "playing" knife fighter on the hallway door frame. I thought she was going to kill me for messing up the frame, but she just gave me a look and snickered. I thought I was going to catch hell for sure but she is use to my household "kata" by now.

Now I need some wood filler and paint to repair my frame :D... All is fair in love, war, and kukri testing.

Hmm, I've got a Sirupati that matches perfectly with your specs, both weight and length. I may have to try it, though without causing property damage. When you rent, property damage is a bad idea. I had tried the supported drawcut with my WWII, but it never seemed worth using. Unfortunately I'm currently without targets. My last triangle box has been beat up too much. Still, I've always had issues with the slippery and slightly small horn grip on my Siru.

Im surprised no one snagged that M43 yet. That guard is really nice, the polish looks perfect. The guard is nice and thick too. It's like the Rhino of the kukri world... Stout and powerful!

man that m43 is 1 sexy piece of art! anyone know what it is under on their site? i didnt see anything labeled m43?

yeah, i just clicked on that and was like "damn im an idiot"....came back to edit it before someone noticed my dumb question....HAHAHA
