Good afternoon friends, I have two to offer today. Knife 1 is a compact and efficient hawkbill knife with a right side chisel ground serrated edge that will make short work of fibers and flesh. The second is longer recurved blade with a sub-tip and tanto like convex tip. Both knives have guardless profiles for sleekness and efficiency in the draw, with jimping for grip security. Both handles are sized perfectly to also be used in reverse grip with the thumb capping the butt. In .09" 15N20 these combine all the lateral strength needed to their intended use, with excellent slicing geometry. These are very slicey, light, and fast in the hand. If both are purchased to ship together, combined shipping saves you $25.

I always used to think so as well. Many serrations on the market involve very small scallops with a tight radius that can be hard to get a sharpening rod into while hitting the entire edge.

When learning how to make serrations, I realized that the best configuration, in my opinion, is serrations nearly a quarter inch, or more, between the tips, and ground thinner behind the edge than production knives, which typically come in at .020" behind the edge, or more. I grind my edges so that the serrations are at most .012" behind the edge.

Just like with a plain edge knife, a serrated knife will have better cutting ability and be easier to maintain when there is less steel behind the edge to wedge in the material you are trying to cut, and to remove during sharpenings.

My serrations can be maintained easily by passing a ceramic rod over the beveled side at ever so slightly more obtuse an ange than the serration grind itself, with only a small number of very shallow passes on the non beveled side, again at almost the same angle, but maybe a half a degree more, just to cut off any burr that was formed while sharpening the beveled side.

I used to hate serrations until I learned how to make them this way, and now my own EDC fixed blade is a serrated Prevail in 15N20 with a green Suretouch handle and I love it).

Knife 1

Specs

Steel: .09" 15N20, 61 RC

Geometry: Full flatvex, serrated, ~.012" behind the edge

Overall Length: 7"
Cutting Edge Length: Just over 3"

Weight: 1.7 oz., 3 oz. with sheath

Handle: Freehand textured leopardwood scales with purple heart liners

Sheath: Black Boltaron pancake sheath included

Boltaron is a thermoplastic like Kydex, similar in price, but with a molding temperature about 30° higher than Kydex. This means that it is functionally identical to Kydex in all climates except that in high temperature climates it is a far superior choice, as it is much less likely to lose its shape if left in a hot car, for example. The only drawback to Boltaron over Kydex is it is available in fewer colors.

Price is expired, payable via itemized PayPal invoice, which I will send to your specified email address. Includes tracked and insured expedited North America shipping. I will ship internationally at buyer's expense and liability. First "I'll take it" with comms by PM or email (ie send me the email address you want the invoice sent to) gets priority. My email address is in my sig if you turn your phone sideways.

Remarkable self-defense tools. I have no doubt they cut like light sabers scaled down a little.
