Two Bowies, the Every Day Bowie, and the Skinny Fat Bowie.
First is the EDBowie. It is simple and strong, light and easy to carry. By now most are aware that AEB-L is an exceptionally tough steel that holds a good edge at high hardness, and more importantly does so without giving up its status among the tougher stainless steels. We are used to seeing AEB-L ground very thin, but what if we took thin stock, and gave it a slicey grind, but left it a little thicker behind the edge, say Spyderco Military thick? I think at that point we would have a knife that still excels at cutting, but also brings a certain robustness to the table that higher carbide steels can't claim. That is the philosophy behind this build, hence the thin stock, but broad blade and robust tip and edge grind. This knife will cut well for you, but it won't need babying.
Specs
Steel: 3/32' AEB-L, RC 62-63
Geometry: Full flatvex, 15° per side primary edge, 20° micro, .025" behind the edge
Overall Length: 7 1/4"
Cutting Edge Length: 3 1/2"
Weight: 3 oz
Handle: Flat black canvas Micarta scales, brass pins, strong waterproof construction
Sheath: Included, and to be made per buyer's choice of taco or pancake. Black Boltaron, and will be compatible with G-Clips, and large and small Tek Loks. Please provide required eyelet spacing specs if other clips need to be accommodated.
