Ok kinda pissed first time in 10 years I blew up a blade at work!! Think the sharpmaker can take it out ??? LOL !!! Any chance of sending it in to spyderco for a new blade?? It probably should be covered under warrenty right ?

i dont think they replace blades, doubt it is covered. now you have a dedicated beater knife :D ;)

I think he was joking about being covered under warranty.

IMO, you're lucky it wasn't you that ended up like that. :)

Yeah that looks about right. I've got a about a half dozen screwdrivers with the same kind of scarring. You get that POP! and that spark of light and then you look down to see how much of the metal has melted away from whatever you were holding. The rest of the knife is still completely useable though. I'd just keep using it until it was completely shot.

I had a pair of Kleins that did not hold up that well, of course they were matched up against 220.

That sucks. That's an older endura too...at least you can really beat the crap out of that knife without feeling bad now.

Havin' made quite a few of those in my 30 years as a mechanic I can tell ya this, be glad the path of least resistance was through the blade and not through your arms and heart.

Keep and use the trophy, it'll remind ya of how close to effin' up ya can get. :)

I think it will come out. Worse case is sending it back with $20 to get a regrind.

For the following repairs please include $20.00USD plus $5.00USD for shipping and handling

Blade or edge- Broken tip from prying or dropping, chipped edge or broken serrations, destroyed edge due to improper sharpening, rust due to neglect or other blade issues. Spyderco does not replace blades. Depending on the blade’s condition we may be able to re-profile or re-serrate.

Clips and clip screws- sheared off screws or broken FRN integral clips (can only be replaced with metal clips).

Handle- Missing Kraton inserts or other handle issues.

It's a serrated blade, it should work fine the way it is. :D Maybe a light touch up and it should be good to go. :p

Pretty cool coloring on there. Can you take another picture in macro mode?

The tile counter is in focus in that picture.

Silly person. Knives don't belong in electrical sockets, okay? :D

On a more serious note, glad you're OK and even the knife survived to some extent. :)

im amped up to see what you do with it

what happened is truly shocking

sorry about the puns, i couldnt resist

;)

Yeah, I've got a nice copper plated dent in the wire cutters on my Gerber from when I let some jackass borrow it.

It's good for stripping cable though.
