Hey all! I am currently on the market for a blue endura 4 ffg and after my next paycheck i will be throwing down the cash to get one off of cutleryshoppe.com! (great prices) and i just want to know from you guys: how have your experiences been? how much do you love or hate it?? all discussion is welcome!

Great knife, even better when I ground down that middle finger groove. Put a zip tie on the spyder hole and it's even more fun.

Yea, I like it to. Kinda wish they made a liner lock version. The lockback makes it a little harder to open, but still a great knife. very thin overall, but has good blade thickness. Well worth the money

its an amazing blade, it is however a little bit stiff I.E. ALOT of blade retention, and being such a long blade and handle it isn't the smoothest flick-to-open knife.. but it still is real nice and ull break it in after a while..

ffg is the way-to-go... its a fantastic edc to be honest... big, but yet lightwieght and so erganomical

If it's anything like my Delica 4 FFG, it should be awesome, ergonomics are top-notch, and VG-10 has done good for me.

Only critique is the FRN handles, they have a little cheapy feeling.\

Otherwise, it really is great.

haha i adore the ffg! right now my main edc is the tenacious and it is wonderful.

I agree on the frn feeling kindof cheap but i got used to it on a griptillian i have and after you get used to it, it is great!

DOn't worry about the FRN handles, they do feel a little cheap but only because they are light. They are very durable at the price you are paying. The blade is an excellent design and the action to open is excellent. I don't generally go in for expensive folders but the Endura4 and Delica4 in FFG are so good that I'm thinking of upgrading to a more expensive steel than VG10 (which is one of the best all rounders for stainless IMO).

My buddy EDCs one and he really likes it. I have played around with it quite a bit and I really like it. It's very slim and lightweight for such a long knife. It's almost like wielding a sabertooth or something. For $50 or so I think it's a great value.

I agree with Socom's comment on the lock back, it does take a little more force to open (like most of the lockbacks I have handled) but it still is capable of a fast deployment and of course the lock back is very strong.

I think the E4 is the best knife there is for a fully serrated edge. If you haven't tried it yet I suggest giving it a go. If you can get a waved and serrated E4 that's even better.
I have three of them (2 in ZDP-189) and love them all.

A ZDP-189 Endura 4 FFG has been my EDC for a while now and it is a fantastic knife. Solid yet light weight and a comfortable handle. I don't find the FRN to have a 'plastic' feel at all, in fact if you look at it closely, you can see the shimmer from the glass fibers used to strengthen the nylon. I have seen similar material used for bushings, wear a groove in a hardened steel shaft. Good enough for me.

Best value IMO would be FFG Endura with ZDP-189. You get a steel with better edge retention than S30V in an affordable package. But even though I know FRN handles are tougher than they feel, they still feel like rather "cheap" material. If this is something that bothers you, you could have a look at the Caly 3 in ZDP for about $40 more.

It's a great choice. Other models have come and gone but the Endura lives on. It's a classic. Buy as many as you can:)

I love my Endura 4 FFG but I have the G-10 version and it's been discontinued. That sucks cuz I don't like FRN handles even though I know they're tough. It's a mental block or something. No g-10 / no money comes out of wallet! :)

I think I'm selling mine because of the middle of the handle hump that someone posted about. It doesn't fit my grip at all and had never been out of the knife storage bin because of that. :(

endura ? hell yeah :D

The Endura and its little brother, the Delica, are 2 of the most popular folding knives of all time, and possibly the most popular "modern" folding knives (meaning 1-hand opening with pocket clip). And not by accident. It's hard to find fault with either that isn't based purely on nitpicky preferences. Some might not like the "cheap" feeling of the FRN plastic, but they'll still admit there's nothing wrong with them. VG-10 might not be the highest wear-resistant steel, but it does hold an edge well and is easy to sharpen to a razor edge. The E4/D4 all-around one of the best knives-for-the-money you can find.

Great, great knife for the money. The blade is about the perfect length for me, and the knife carries really well in the pocket. The FFG version performs wonderfully, better and more useful than many high dollar knives. I like the FRN, especially in the FFG colors and there's a certain minimalist cool factor in owning such a well designed yet inexpensive knife. The VG-10 steel is a pleasure to cut with and sharpen. On the con side, I'm not crazy about the back lock, though they are said to be very strong and reliable--there tends to be front to back blade play, and it's awkward to close them one handed. For the money, you can't go wrong, but if you were to spend say 2X that amount, I believe there are better Spydercos available--the Para-Military 2 or the Military would be my preferences, though if you're like me, eventually you'll probably get all three.

I think that the Endura 4 is the best design of the Endura so far.

It is great that they came out with the blue, gray, green, brown and purple handle color options too!
