ENDURA 4 what are your thoughts?

I have been EDC'ing a ZT0350 and a Spyderco Military for a few months. Last week I started carrying my Endura Wave that I bought to replace one I lost. The old one I carried for almost 4 years.

As good as all my other folders are, for day to day EDC'ing, the Endura Wave is my favorite.....It's just a really well designed knife.

Only critique is the FRN handles, they have a little cheapy feeling
Call me a contrarian but I like the way Spyderco's FRN feels in my hand. Very grippy and less plasicky than BM's Valox. Just my $.02.

Great knife, go for it.
I got one (or two) and i love like the first model.
Infact i like the flatground blade better - it cut's like hell.
A lightweight knife for cutting.

I took a G-10 X VG-10 and an FRN X ZDP-189 and swapped the parts. Now I have the premium blade and the premium handle in the same knife.

The FFG Endura may be my favorite knife. Seems to end up in my pocket more than anything else. Thin in the pocket, but cuts big.

Hey that's a great idea. I should do the same thing. Was the tear down/put together problematic? I've done CS Triads but never a Spyderco backlock (midlock).

It's not a tough job, but it helps to clamp the rocker when installing the blade. Otherwise you run out of hands.

I've thought about that myself but haven't found a deal on a G-10 version yet.

I think I'm selling mine because of the middle of the handle hump that someone posted about. It doesn't fit my grip at all and had never been out of the knife storage bin because of that. :(

That middle hump is real easy to take care of.

Great knife, even better when I ground down that middle finger groove. Put a zip tie on the spyder hole and it's even more fun.

I also ground down the middle groove. It's horribly misplaced. The knife is much better without it.

i've owned my endura 4 ZDP for about 1 1/2 years now, EDC'd for about a year of that time. the endura 4 is highly recommended in my book.

Pretty much the best cutting tool for the money, IMHO. With all the variations and steels available, you'll find one for any application you may have.

My waved Delica 4 is always on me when I'm out-and-about. Great for those Kalifornika jurisdictions that prohibit 3" or greater knives.

This thread makes me wish I'd carried my green FFG Endura for today!

And mine is right here beside me. I gave my last Endura to a good friend and was without for a few years. I went through a Kershaw kick for a while. The multi colored FFG's came out and I had to have one again. They still snap lock with authority and the steel is basically rust proof with a modicum of care. I do wipe a touch of mineral oil on it now and then. It also sharpens back up with use, to scary sharp quite easily. The only caution about the knife for me was that the new FFG Endura is just this side of flimsy. I'm not saying that it is, but I feel that if Spyderco made the blade any thinner or shaved off any more weight it would start to tip into flimsy. As it is, it seems wonderfully light and balanced. Sometimes a design can be tweaked only so much unless a materials advance comes along. I REALLY like my FFG Endura but consider it a light to medium use folder. Funny thing about Spydercos though. I can handle one that I bought a few years ago and it still feels like a quality knife, and that my money was well spent.

I have the steel lined g-10 version and I'm scared to grind that thing out. I wouldn't know where to start and would bugger it up good I'm sure.
