Would you say the endura is a good all around edc knife because I'm looking to grab one and their relatively cheap and im wondering how strong they are how reliable they are and how it locks up

Get it, you wont be disappointed. Mine has the wave feature which I bought as kind of a novilty, but its great to pull the knife out of your pocket ready to rock, especially while you are carrying stuff. Sturdy knife great for EDC and sharp as a whore's tongue.

They are pretty reliable and fairly strong. But I got rid of mine because I didn't like the ergonomics and the overall look of the knife.

Huh that surprises me cause I think it's a fairly good looking knife but you know everyone has different opinions

I liked my Endura too, but didn't want to deal with cops hassling me for having a 3+ inch knife, so I just got a Delica, which I actually like better. Gifted the Endura to my cousin.

Very reliable and useful knife, as long as you don't abuse it. But I think someone made a video of an Endura 4 chopping down a small tree, so it will stand up to some abuse.

I hated the design, and realized that it was only about $50, so I decided to make it a beater knife. It worked good for a long time until I decided to sell it. I almost want to buy another one for a beater.

It's a great knife in and of itself, but for EDC it's just too big IMO. Look at a Delica. Love mine and have a second on the way.

if you're like me, you'll get hooked and that's not necessarily a good thing. now i generally look askance at any blade less than 3 3/4" long. my usual edc is an endura zdp while my titanium military goes out on weekends.

Endura was my first Spyderco and that got me hooked with the company. At first I hated the looks of Spydies because of the hole and the hump it created in the blade, but it kinda grew on me and now I have a bunch of different Spydies. Thought about getting the wave Endura, but did the ghetto zip tie wave mod and that works great. The Endura is pretty strong and smooth. Definitely wouldn't baton or pry with it, but overall it's a good EDC, a little long for me tho.

You can't go wrong with either an Endura or Delica. I've owned my Delica 4 [little brother to the Endura 4, obviously] for around 4 years now, and it's lockup is just as reliable and strong as the day I bought it, even after hard use and a tiny bit of abuse; I expect nothing less from my Endura!

The Endura 4 is a lockback so lock up is tight.

I'm carrying a gray one right now. Normally I'm a Benchmade guy. But I was able to sharpen the VG10 blade sharper than any knife I've ever done. I use a DMT Aligner.

I found an Endura 4 at a thrift store. I had no idea what it was. Like I said, I'm a Benchmade guy.

I'm glad I got it. I really like it a lot. I normally like smaller knives, but this thing is light and carries well.

I've beat the crap out of mine.... SE Endura 4 FRN. It's been used to cut down trees, used as a shovel, used to cut roots, etc... love it for a beater, little large for an EDC (for me)

It's a fantastic blade. I was scared to get a knife made in Taiwan, but after looking into it I found it to be a solid build. I liked it so much, I then purchased the FFG in tan. I can't decide which I like better, but either will serve you well.

You have skeletonized steel liners, great texture for grip, "jimping" on the right spots, very large grip, and large cutting surface. The VG-10 has been better to me then some premium steels. I can't say enough about the Endura line, they are something you have to have in a collection.

I do tend to carry them in the Summer, as they are light.

Last I checked, they were made in Japan. Are you sure yours says Taiwan?

On a side note, the Taiwanese Spydercos have the best quality the company has to offer in my experience. They seem to have found a great contractor with the Taichung factory. Other Taiwanese knives.... not so much.

The Endura is one of my most carried/used knives of my life. It is brilliant: large enough to give you options, excellent back lock, best ever scale texturing gives superior grip, safe for your finger thumb hole makes it a one-hand opener, great blade steel, adjustable pivot, screw construction, replaceable clip and pointy and sharp blade with lots of belly for push and pull cuts.

The ZT 561, for comparison, built on one of the most coveted and influential Hinderer XM-18 folders in modern history. I prefer the flipper for one-hand opening over the thumb hole so I carry the ZT often these days. The Endura is grippier, about the same size, lighter and thinner than the 561.

Ah my bad! I meant Japan.

Another recommendation for the E4, I have carried an Endura for the last 10 years, and an E4 G-10 for the last 5. I have tried to replace it, but there is nothing that works better for me. Even if it doesn't, they are easy to unload.

I have 2 Endura's, a stainless one and a blue Endura 4 flat ground. I like them both. I love vg10 steel. The blue e4 does chew the top edge of my pocket a little though. But it is a great edc blade.
