Endura 5 ever coming out?

I've seen them with different scales and steels, what else can be done? A lock change maybe? I would by one if it came with the Compression Lock or the Ball Bearing Lock. I'm not sure either would fit though? Maybe a deep carry clip? That's about all I can think of, the Compression Lock might fit. Would that make the price significantly higher? If the handle length was shortened I might be in, 5" is pretty long when compared to my current favorite the Manix 2.

1. Remove the middle hump in the handle that pushes against the middle finger. That never should have been there.
2. Maybe go back to a pointy tip rather than the blunted safety tip.
3. Find some way to neatly tuck the kick into the handle when the knife is closed (but do not introduce a finger choil).
4. Speaking of choils, I think a sharpening choil might be nice.
5. The bushing pivot would be awesome.
6. Full liners instead of nested liners, even if the handles are FRN.
7. A metal backspacer.

How would that be for a Delica/Endura 5?

I agree with #1. That hump needs to go. The rest of the handle is fine. I partially agree with #3, especially no finger choil!

I would like to see a stop pin.

I do not mind FRN but I would like to see more G10 options.

When the fever in FFG ends and a new trend in blade grind is in favor then you will see an Endura 5.

I was gonna say the opposite, clean up the exposed tang with a finger choil!

1. No. I don't mind that hump on either Delica or Endura.
2. Then we're going backwards. Spyderco makes plenty of pointy blades.
3. Yes, hide the kick, but I'll take a choil on these models.
4. Meh. I'm not against it, but I don't need or want it.
5. It'll raise the price, which I'm against on this model. And my Delicas and Enduras are definitely smooth enough without it.
6. No, no, no, no, no, no, no! Absolutely not. The current nested liners are absolutely perfect.
7. Added weight that is un-necessary.

Sounds like Endura may be revised with new offering of Super Gold, and maybe G10 option? Possibly like the upcoming Stretch?
Either way, I'm excited.
I don't really see the need for any other alterations to the Endura/Delica. Except bring back option of Super Blue w/ grey FRN, that needs to stick around.

I'd like to see the Delica/Endura/Stretch with an improved lock like with the Native 5, which apparently has a tighter tolerance. Or a lockback like on the Chaparral or Sage that uses a stop, which completely eliminates blade play.

What is it that needs to be improved from the Endura 4?

Return to the old pointy blade shape and remove the liners. No need for a 4 position clip and FRN is strong enough :) Hey that may even drop the price...

Perish the thought! BLASPHEMY!!!!

There are already enough knives in the Spyderco line missing 15%-25% of the cutting edge in the spot the cutting stroke is strongest (i.e. with finger choils). :barf:

Let's not ruin the Endura! Even Sal said "Blades are for cutting and handles are for holding".

If anything, bring the edge all the way BACK like the "Budget" line (Tenacious, etc.)

Finger choils? Sharpening notches? Good lord, please no.

A finger choil would would be pretty pointless on this knife IMO. Absolutely no reason to reduce blade length and increase handle length.

Sharpening notches are the worst addition to a blade one could ask for. It is not difficult at all to sharpen the current design and adding the notch would only allow for materials being cut to snag. As someone who sharpens a lot I don't see the need or reason for it.

I'm fine with the materials used (VG10, FRN etc.) but I would definitely like to see and end to the lock back, I am not a back lock fan, it's like the knife is trying not to open. Ball bearing or compression lock would be cool, liner would be fine with me also. A pivot that rides on bearings would be nice too, properly done bearing pivots are very smooth and fast, and I'm Spyderco would do it right.

To play devil's advocate, not everybody is a good sharpener. Some, like me, are simply proficient. That said, it's not difficult to add one in yourself.

Regarding the finger choil, even as someone who loves them, I agree. Spyderco already offers many designs with them, there's no reason to put them on every single one. Just in FRN we already have the Native, the Dragonfly, and the Stretch off the top of my head. There are plenty of options for either side.

I'd be all for them bringing the edge all the way to the handle like on the budget line. That's my strongest preference over a finger choil. But, if I have to lose edge to an unsharpened tang, I prefer it to be made functional be being part of a finger choil.
