Endura Bigger than expected

Fedex showed up today with my Endura, I must say this is a big knife. It's much bigger in hand than I expected and will probably just end up in my collection as I doubt I will carry it. It does feel fine in pocket almost to the point where I forget its there but I can just see peoples eyes pop out of their heads when I pull it out.

I would really like to see Spyderco come out with middle child in between the Delica and Endura. For now I will stick with my Delica until my Native shows up next week and give it a go. I do have a feeling though that the Delica is going to end up back in my pocket, its such a great knife.

How funny, a year ago when I got my Endura I was shocked how small it was, so light and narrow with such a thin blade

That middle child is called the Stretch. Bigger than the Delica, smaller than the Endura. Someone else might have a better comparison picture. I don't have an Endura, but prefer the Stretch over the Delica.

The bigger knives give you an excuse to buy a smaller one to carry too for the nkp jobs ;)

Between my gun, knife and mulitool I really don't want to add the extra weight and space of another knife. I tried adding my Dragonfly to the pack but it just didn't work out.

Edit: I have the SB Endura as well, but it unused and I didn't want to pull it out of the safe.

I came here to post this. I like the endura but the stretch is the perfect knife.

It's my preferred large blade if I want to go 4 inches to carry... Class leading weight and pocketability wins it for me, great blade shape too.

It is big for utility purposes though and the smaller Stretch is a nice middle ground from the Endura and Delica. These three compliment each other well and can cover most everything.

The Caly3.5 looks to be in-between. Slightly shorter blade than the Endura, and more than an inch shorter OAL. The Caly3 has a slightly longer blade than the Delica, and it is also a little shorter OAL.

The Endura is a lot of knife for the money. I love mine, but it is about as large a knife as I would carry. Something like a Caly or Sage is closer to the sweet spot in size. But sometimes you need a bigger knife and the Endura fills that role. Great slicer, have not used it for camping but I could see it doing well in that role.

I keep my Endura 4 unused and extra sharp as a concealed and dedicated defensive blade. Stretches and Delicas are nice but still too big for being pulled in front of bystanders. That's why I decided to order a Dragonfly 2. Small knife, but the " political correctness " renders impossible to use anything larger than a 2 inches blade. I have a C.S. Micro Recon Tanto as a key ring knife, but it's not ideal to carry, since it has not a clip.

What kind of horrible place do you live?My 530 benchmade is ignored in the mountains of NC.

An endura raised eyebrows here...so I used it at work carefully!

The Endura surprised me a little with how big it was when I first picked one up.

Especially coming from a Delica and a PM2. It carried so well and the blade was so useful, I grew to really like it. I edc s Millie now so it seems small ish in comparison.

We could all probably get a dragonfly, Delica, stretch, and Endura and never have to buy a folding knife again. That's the dark thought I have sometimes that I hope I never see the full reality in. Those knives are so well done and useful.

I think besides the stretch the native 5 somehow magically feels larger then it is and how it carries.

I think it merits a look in your search.

The Stretch is an in between knife, but the handle seems a bit big. The handle of the Delica is svelte so it carries very well. I wonder if a Caly 3.5 wouldn't be a better mid way choice?

i think it's crazy knife laws that often dictate sizes and models. i never understood the size of the delica under 3" blade.

i agree thought the delica is too small for the most part...the endura shape and such is a bit too big at 3.75" for the most part....middle version would eliminate need for both...although i think goofy knife laws play into this more than demands.....maybe i'm way off though? too lazy to go look up all the crazy city by city, county by county, state by state knife laws. many have already done that for us, but not an exhaustive list in one pile for each and every city, county, state, etc. it's mind blowing......

I've never owned one, but doesn't the R kind of fit between the Delica and Endura? Has a more similar blade shape to those two compared to the Stretch.
