endura for a soldier

Do have an Endura and using it around my house, but for field work, i would much preferre a Spydie Mille or PM 2, due to the open frame construction - much easier to clean than the closed frame type/backspring type, like the Endura.

I agree with Ragnerok, Im x-army and Id go PM2 or Millie, more capable blades for servicemen in my opinion.
Bigger holes and thicker handles for gloved hands as well as open construction.

I am a cabinet maker. Used the endura for a good ten years and loved it. ( alternate between a citadel and military now) think the endura is a great knife for sure but not nearly as great as the military. Owning both for a long time I can say the military is solid. With lots of day to day use the blade still is rock solid with no play. The enduras I've had will have a little play after a while with use. Never had any issue with the endura getting clogged or dirty not having the pass through design like the military has. But then again I'm not crawling around in the mud and sand. I think the lock back on the endura is easier with gloves than the military and its liner but the military is much easier to open with gloves having a larger hole. Can probably buy two enduras and have a backup for the price of a military. If it were me I would want the military. Both being great knives either way is not a bad choice.

Of course, if money is an issue for her, then I would say get the Endura. She cannot go wrong with this knife. There are two non-Spydie choices I could recommend that are near indestructible and built for soldiers that are also in the same price range as the Endura. But, this is the Spydie forum so you would need to email me. The Endura will definitely carry better. If he is in an office or hospital, etc. then the Endura is a great choice.

Surprising to me that one knife, the Endura is "at home" in so many applications. As a defensive carry EDC, kitchen/food processing folder, military utility/EDC knife, first responder law enforcement carry, I've taken it camping, hiking, traveling on vacation overseas... The balance, weight/dimensions and performance make it my goto USER larger folder by far.

The all steel version, Ti, and the return of the G10 versions give you even more options ;)
