Endura or Delica for EDC?

Hi guys,

I am thinking about buying either an Endura 4 or Delica 4 as an EDC blade. It will be the full flat ground version (still in stock in several places) with FRN handles. I was originally only looking at the Delica as I prefer the smaller blade in my pocket--until I realized I can get the Endura for almost $10 cheaper (even though it's 30% bigger). Are size and weight going to be an issue for EDCing the Endura and if so should I pay the extra $10 for the smaller knife? Or is the difference mostly negligible considering the prices?

P.S. this will be my first Spyderco :D

I'd go with the smaller Delica. Rarely have I found the extra length of the Endura necessary, so the more convenient size wins out.

+1:thumbup: for the Delica ( I have a couple of them). Excellent EDC and its in my rotation. I have an Endura, however its a little large for EDC. Its better suited for part of my "camp" knife selection.

I have both... and REALLY prefer the Delica. I agree, that I have never felt like I needed "more blade" for EDC.

To me the Delica is darn near the perfect size for EDC.

They are both great knives, perfect for edc. I am a big guy with big hands and pockets and I prefer a larger knife in my hands, so I would go with the Endura.

There's nothing a delica can do that an endura can't but there probably is something that the bigger knife can do that the smaller one can't. So if an endura is legal in your locale, then endura, if not, then delica.

I've EDC'd an Endura (back pocket) for the past 20 years.
For myself I prefer the extra reach of the larger blade.

I'm a big guy with big hands and I still prefer the Delica over the Endura. I hardly ever carry my Endura. If I'm gonna carry something as big as the Endura, I'll usually grab my military.

Have 6 Delica's and 2 Endura's ~~ and 1 user Delica EDC 'they just about do it all and feel so good in the hand.!!:):)

I just got a ffg delica and it is perfect. Another vote for the delica.

I had an endura g10 and found it too big and it was even difficult for me to open because my thumbs are sorta short.

if you have the opportunity i would hold them in your hand first, thats the best thing to do.

that being said i would choose the delica. i have carried both larger and smaller blade sizes and i prefer a smaller blade for every day stuff, it is easier for me on finer "detail" work or pretty much anything where i am focusing the cutting power on the tip of the blade. i have been carrying the delica for about 8 months now and it has the perfect blend of size and strength for my tasks. i switch between the delica and a benchmade griptillian 551 and my delica sees a lot more use and carry time.

as a previous poster mentioned as well, i feel a larger folder is better suited for camping/outdoor uses. and i will hopefully have my larger folder, a military, in a few months.

I thought the Delica would be far too small and whimpy. I couldn't be more wrong. The Endura is huge in comparison and overkill for most tasks. The Delica is always on hand and is extremely useful.

Thanks all! I know a store nearby that sells Spyderco so I'll check both of them out--right now I'm leaning toward the Delica.
