I own a spyderco endura ffg, but resently iv been checking out the benchmade griptilian. I needto know what I should do, keep the endura and forget about the grip? Or sell my endura to get money so i can buy the grip. I would love to keep the endura and get the grip, but its not a perfect world haha.

Any replies are welcome, thank you

that's right!

I had both knives in the past:
Griptilian 550HG[154cm steel] and Endura 4 [VG-10]

Griptilian has a :
-better lock [smooth action and strong],
-much better edge retention,
-thinner cutting edge [cuts like a razor  ],
-better handle [for me]...
-...it's a Benchmade ;)

Endura has a stronger blade-tip, but who needs it?
knife is a cutting tool,
not a pry-bar ;)

PS:
sorry for my poor English :(

I respectfully disagree. :)

VG-10 has excellent edge retention, and the FFG is quite a magnificent slicer. The Endura is thinner and therefore rides more easily in the pocket.

The Griptilian is a great knife, no doubt about it. Smooth opener, and feels great in the hand.

But I would recommend staying with what you have. When you have the bucks for a Griptilian someday, go for it.

If you love the Endura, save your pennies and eventually you'll have both.

And I like the Ritter blade far more than the standard Grip blade.

 Good advice! If the Endura has been good to you stick with it and one day buy the grip.

+2:thumbup: I've had both and kept the FFG G10 Endura for my outdoor pack. It's my only Spyderco, but I really like it for this purpose.

I've owned three full-sized grips and 1 g10 Endura. I've still got the Endura and use it more than just about anything. I like it considerably more than the full-sized grip. I've sold off all the full-size grips I've owned and did not have them for long at all, which tells me that I just couldn't get myself to like them. I like the looks of them from afar, but don't like them so much in use.

BUT I like the mini-grip much better than the Delica. I gave away my only mini-grip and seriously miss it. I've sold away several Delicas and don't miss them at all.

For me, the Endura is uncomfortable in use. The scales are to thin, and the finger choil design is in exactly the wrong place for my hand. (same with the delica) I would take the thicker scales of the Grip every time. Now if there was a flat ground Native III, that might be a different story. ;)

If you like the Endura, keep it and save up for the Griptilian. Saving over several months or even a year can make the cost for the Grip seem negligible.

Finger choil:confused: Enduras and Delicas don't have finger choils as far as I know.

Yes keep the FFG Endura, I have both but I don't really carry my Grip. That's not to say it's not a great knife because it is, but I like my green FFG Endura a lot better.

Endura is a great knife and if you want to keep it do. I would just wait on the grip and get it when more convienent then youll have two great blades.

You don't wanna give up the Endura for the Grip.

I have both knives, and while I really like both of them, if I could only have one one I'd take the Endura without hesitation.

I had the Grip and MiniGrip and the Endura 4 but sold both but replaced the E4 with the Endura 4 G-10. I sold off my Grips first though. I found that the VG-10 on the Endura(s) to have better edge retention than the 154CM on the Grip's. I also find the Endura more comfortable to carry pocket clipped than the Grip and even smaller MiniGrip. The Grip and MiniGrip just felt too bulky in hand and in pocket. I much prefer t 'flatness' and slender profile of the Endura even in hand. I did not like the saber grid of the first E4 which is why I replaced my E4 FRN with the E4 G-10. I wish they had the E4 FFG back when I bought my first one but then again, I might not have splurged on the G-10 version and it is one of my most beloved and favorite folding knives ever.

I had the same debate but on the smaller sisters, the Mini Grip vs. Delica. I went with the Delica FRN in blue scales because I wanted thinner for EDC and the handle on it felt better in hand than the Mini Grip. I did like the Axis lock and don't know enough about saber vs. FFG to know why I would want the Delica or even the steel, but I do know that the Delica just felt better in my hand.

Carried an all stainless Endura for years--till I discovered the Grip and the AXIS lock---the Spydie has been in the sock drawer ever since---then I upgraded my AXIS lock knives and the Grip wound up in the drawer too-----the AXIS lock it what does it for me--I doubt I'll ever carry anything else.

I own a full size grip and three Enduras. I obviously vote Endura. They feel more solid to me and I like the full steel liners.
