Endura vs 530/531

For EDC. I want something nice and slim (my Grip is too fat) and is ambidextrous. I also would like a longer blade for food prep. I had a Delica and loved it, but the blade was too short to get through an apple, and this bothered me more than it should've. This is where the Emdura comes in. Like I said earlier, I have a Griptilian but it is a little too far. The 530 and 531 seem like skinny Griptilians to me. I also really like axis locks. I don't use my knives hard, so the fine tip of the Emdira won't be a problem. What are yall's opinions on these?

Alternatively, I might get a Dragonfly (or Delica) and pair it with a large Higonokami for food prep. That way I can carry back pocket which is what I prefer. Any takers on this system?

The Endura is EDC/work knife perfection. I've heard of exactly 0 people complaining about theirs, and mine is definitely one of my favourites.

I just tried out (and moved on from) a 531 and it's a good edc/utility knife... Very very light and very thin, nice grind, good looking... Mine had solid lockup, and what I like about it most is it "disappears" in the pocket.... But the ergos on the coffin style handle just doesn't agree with me at all. It's not terrible but I have so many other options, why sacrifice it... And one of those options is the Endura.

I have a 530, and I really like how slim and light it is while still packing plenty of cutting edge. The blade is thin and is definitely a nice slicer, it's been through many apples for my boys. Mine developed an unacceptable level of blade play, so I sent it back to Benchmade. They replaced the washers and springs, and it was tight for a while. It's not as loose as it was, but I am wondering if the 530 is perhaps too slim? I am not putting it through hard use, but I could have just gotten one that slipped through QC. It is still the knife I carry when I want a longer blade that will disappear in a pocket, and I may get around to sending it in again because I like everything else about it. When I have the space, I often end up with a Dragonfly and Manix 2 BD-1 with the translucent handle. Endura wasn't my thing, but the Manix has lot of blade and the ball-bearing lock works well and operates a bit like the axis.

The Endura is a much stronger knife than the 530. From your description of what you want, the Endura is the answer. Mine has been a fine work knife.

I did a little photo shoot for you, lol. The Endura is my newest, and despite it not being FFG, I love it. This thing is much too fat to slice an apple all the way through (splits it like a wedge, lol), but I don't even care! The thing is awesome - my brother carries a purple, FFG Endura (also awesome).

Lets see - I use my 531 to prep smoothies in the morning, generally. I don't really like the clip on it, so it doesn't spend much time in my pocket. I think I'll try out a different clip, because it is a fun little knife to play with. It also opens/closes unlike other Axis knives I've used. It tries to open/close itself when you pull on the lock studs. It's an excellent slicer, though the studs are 'meh.'

Delica is still one of my favorites, and the biggest difference with my version of Endura and the FFG - the saber grind stays real fat all the way down to the tip. The FFG is much more like the Delicas FFG, if that makes sense. Gonna slice really well, but it does have a thicker stock than the Delica.

Of these, the Endura is my favorite. :) All good stuff though.
