Has anyone handled, or own the endura wave?

The reaosn I ask is that i handled one. It works wonderfully! But It seemed to have a really awkward feel to it? Like the balance was off. Did not feel like the regular endura.

Anyone, have any experience like this with it?

I have a couple and I like them. The balance is fine. My only gripe is that with the very large wave that spydie puts on them, I sometimes find it catches in my pocket on the draw. For this reason only I don't like it as much as I thought I would. Still, a very nice EDC and fast when it doesn't catch.

I love mine. It stated my Spyderco adiction. I carry it every chance I get.
I don't have any issues with the balance or grip.

The only gripe I have with it is that I like more pronounced guard-like finger grooves, like Manix and Chinook has. But I like the Endura wave to the extreme - light, nice in hand and sharp as laser.

I never have this problem. All you do is grab the handle and the spine of the blade while pulling it out away from the corner of your pocket.

I suppose it depends on where you like it balanced. I've never felt that it was off balance.

Thanks guys, i aprpeciate it. I can open it with the wave easily enough. But for some reason it just feels
"different" in the hand, than the older ones I handled.

I've never held an older version of the Enduras, but if they're like the Pacific Salt, then the E4s are heavier due to the liners. When comparing my E4 Wave to my PS, the PS has more weight towards the blade and the E4's weight is spread towards the handle more.

Mine is the first Spyderco I've owned in years (nothing against Spydies, just drifted off elsewhere). I'm very happy with it, and carry it regularly. The balance feels just fine to me. I'm not really used to the Wave feature yet, but I usually use the spyder hole when opening it front of anyone.

I love the waved endura. Its in my regular edc rotation. The wave makes it deploy instantly. Its just a good solid well build knife.

I love mine, but I agree it does feel a little different from the regular endura...if thats what your used to. But you'll get used to it

I'm a big Endura Wave advocate.

The weight of the newer Enduras vs the old makes it feel a lot different. I would say that since I got this model and a Delica Wave it has made all other FRN models almost obsolete for me.

Great value in these knives.

Do you know if Spyderco plans to release the waved Endura/Delica with (partially) serrated edge?

I have the delica wave myself and I think its balanced just fine.

I noticed that when I carry my wave in IWB it doesnt engage 100% of the time. When I take it out of the waist band, it will have that "snap sound" as if the blade had locked but i would say about 30% of the time, the lock would not engage. The blade would almost be at the engaged point but just barely misses it. Is it just that the blade is pulled out too hard cause it to bounce back off the lock? Has anyone else had this problem?

BTW when it is in the pocket, it has no problems with lock up.
Just did a quick IWB test. 10 tries. 4 open with sucess, 6 it didnt open all the way.

sounds like a good excuse to go pick up a new delica 4 without wave, unless you have one already.

I never had a wave yet. I want an Emerson CQC7 wave first to see what wave is all about. If I like it, then wave Endura it wil be. :D

love the Wave idea but I agree that the E-4 feels weird. I had both the E-4 and the D-4 waves and got rid of both of them. I really don't like the tips. The tips seem blunt compared tp the regular models. I also found that they seemed to get loose fast in the pivot.

For a Delica Wave, I use a zip tied Centofante 4. To replace the Endura, I use a PE Rescue that I modded to have more of a point and look more like a Wharncliff and less like a sheepsfoot blade. Both work great.

I carried a regular Endura for work for several years. I had thought that the wave feature was a gimmick...until I got one. I now have a couple spares in case I would happen to lose one. You can open bottles with the wave too!
