Yeah guys I have to say that I've been carrying an Endura very frequently for about 10 years. After having my waved Endura 4 for about a month I can say with no doubt that it is better than it's predecessors.
I don't care for the grind as much as the older ones, but it works. The angle on the primary bevel is a little too high for me. You are grinding almost flat on the stone at about 10 degrees per side. I immediately set out to correct the problem on a DMT hone. After thinning the blade substantially I like it much better. At first I had a little chipping on the edge, but I think it was because I didn't take off all the burr in some spots. After a decent sized microbevel at 15 degrees per side it is now working great!!
I am so impressed with VG-10. It is easy to sharpen and takes an unbelievably sharp edge. It is becoming my personal favorite for EDC.
I see why some would like the E3 better. It was a cleaner design. My suggestion would be to look at the Salt knives. I love my Salt 1 and it is basically a D3 with H1 steel and a titanium clip. The H1 is holding sharp edges for a good length of time.
