Long time lurker, first time poster :)

Anyway I bought my E4W about four months ago, and it's been my EDC since. The ergonomics, aesthetics (yes, I think it looks good), blade/edge geometry and price were all spot on. I only pick up my old BM 555 mini-grip instead when I want something smaller that doesn't scare people when I pull it out.

However when I was cleaning out accumulated lint and gunk inside the handle with a toothpick yesterday, I noticed a cut in the back spacer that was obviously put there by the blade. Examining the blade revealed a corresponding flat spot on the edge where it had been hitting the FRN spacer.

I checked my mini-grip and an older Pacific Salt and I have, and both have no such issues. Is this common with other 4th-gen Enduras, and should I be concerned? I have a bad photo of the cut in the back spacer I managed to take with my camera phone, but no means to post it.

I have had the same problem with a harpy. If it dulls the blade it's a problem. You couuld send it in, but it's a long way from sinapore. I solved mine by filing down the spacer. A Leatherman file fits in between the slabs. You may be able to peen the corner of the tang, making it stick out a little more, and thus the blade won't bottom out. This is how they fix slipjoints. But be careful and go slow. If you peen too much, the tip will be above the scales.
