Engineering artwork? (High End Folders)

I thought this discussion was more about art knives. I saw quite a few at Bladeshow in SLC recently. And yes I do think some knives are art and some knives are not. Both types are tools though. Would I EDC a $2500.00 art knife, I want to say NO! but I know myself, and it would be scratched in short order. That's why I don't have one. Do I EDC a high end knife? Yes, I carry a low end William Henry regularly and I use it, just not for everything. Many William Henry's are art knives and are very expensive but in my experience are not delicate and can still be used. Sebenzas, ABs, Koenig and the like, are not art knives in my opinion and I would and do carry and use them. Not much different than high end cars, many get driven but many more do not. When you drive them too much you hurt the value, same can be said for a highly polished blade with engraved bolsters, and jeweled highlights, you don't want to drop that one or damage it as you will lower the value or cause yourself greif getting it fixed. I makes sense to me that "ART" knives don't get used much.
A plain Sebenza is not an art knife. A Unique Graphic Sebenza is absolutely an art knife.

Got knives from under $100 to several thousand and they have all been carried and used. To what extend they get used varies, which mostly depends on price but also availability. I’m not gonna hard use a really rare knife even if it was $100.

My tasks aren’t all that hard. Opening mail/packages, breaking down boxes, sometimes cutting food, garden work, occasional zip tie, etc..

The more rare or expensive knives will do the lighter of those tasks, like opening mail or cutting an apple :D

to speak more directly to the topic of the OP:

I gifted a William Henry knife last year. It is one of their more subtle creations with nice looking wooden scales and an understated Damascus blade on a button locking titanium frame.

The giftee intends to carry it only when wearing a suit for light cutting chores.

His EDC, regardless of what he wears or the occasion, is a SIG P365.

The tragedy of the miss-matched colours? The struggle to break free from inconsistent fonts? The use of a zero instead of Os. Yes all art.

Absolute sound judgement. Try an audio forum some time....😁 (🤣🤣🤣)
Yeah it's all very subjective insofar as everything is concerned........;)

Sadly after a lifetime on the range and other stupid s**t my hearing is terrible and I wear hearing aids. So any "high end" audio is wasted on me. Probably saved me a fortune!! (which I spent on knives🤣)

I'm guessing the oblique The Absolute Sound reference was wasted then (US High End Audio magazine). 😃
