I've had the great pleasure to have written several articles over the years for "Knife Magazine" with my good friend Jack Black. Enclosed are a few pictures from our latest article on English Boy Scout knives.
This article covers the history of the English Scouting program which inspired the Untied States program. Also included are many pictures of unique knives.
"Knife Magazine" offers a wonderful variety of articles covering vintage to modern knives as well as featured works on custom makers.
Personally, I enjoy the actual printed magazines, but they are also available online for a very low yearly subscription rate.

Wow, this is going to be a great article, unfortunately I do not get my Magazine until a couple of Months later, but - I will be waiting for this one!

With two great writers who have great Knowledge, this is guaranteed to be something we will have to peel our eyes away from.

Great to see it in print Neal 🙂 It's always a pleasure working with you my friend, and thanks for all the kind words and encouragement over the years, and for your friendship, of course 👍👍

Thanks gents, very kind of you 👍

Thanks Dan, and great meeting up with you for another lunch outing.

Charlie, thanks, and what a fantastic Canadian Scout knife with a beautiful blade etch. That's the first C. Johnson Boy Scout model I've seen.
It certainly falls in line with the style and dating of the Wostenholm model shown on the first page of the article.

Thanks Duncan, who's another "Knife Magazine" author and good friend.

Jack, Your writing skills and grasp of history are top notch, you always raise the level of my work.

meako, with knives in our pockets, we're always prepared. :)

I love this kind of stuff well done both of you.

Where can I buy the magazine from?
Thanks John, I'm afraid that the magazine is only available on subscription these days, but they also do an online subscription, which allows to all the back issues, and a lot else besides
I have one same as the one above but a different maker.

Richards of Sheffield :) Nice

I'll have to take some photos of my British Scout and Girl Guide knives. H herder gifted me this IXL - the Boy Scouts were too tough for me! :D

Are they no longer available from Barnes & Noble Bookseller and similar storefronts? It has been a long time since I was in a major city with a good bookstore so, it is possible things have in fact changed.

I believe it's subscription only now

Oh great, now ANOTHER sub-group of knives to chase after!

Seriously though, should be an interesting article. You see a lot of German made scout knives, but I've not seen many English scout -specific folding knives.

Can't wait!
