Hey Kyle,

Thanks. That means a lot coming from you.

Greg

P. S. I changed the pic. to show a finished panel.

Mr. Ken Hurst does great work. That is certain to be an awesome looking knife when done.

Hope to see it then.

Peter

Wow, this one looks like it will be a real beauty --- I sure hope you will show us the completed project!

In the meantime, can you give us more details, like the specs?

Thanks Greg.

The ivory is awesome, I love that color. Can't wait to see this one put together :)

a cool looking knife:thumbup::cool:

Greg, the design and execution of the knife are nice. I've made several frame handles before and believe they make an interesting knife, certainly when engraved. I'm not familiar with Hurst, but his scrollwork looks good as well. I think it enhances your knife quite well.

Will you be bluing the handle frame, then French graying the scrollwork?

After your initial post I was wondering if you'd made scales since I didn't see any pin holes, but I see you have ivory scales for the knife.

I think you'll have a fine knife once finished.

David

Thanks guys, Greg and I appreciate all your kind words. By this afternoon, I'll forward another picture (rear bolster) to Greg and he can post it to this thread. Ken

Gentlemen,

Thanks for your kind comments, they are reassuring to a beginning maker like me.

Mr. Broadwell,
Not only is Mr. Hurst a fine engraver he's fast, I only sent him this handle two weeks ago. He is also helpful and friendly on the phone.
Yes there will be eight hidden pins. Also Mr. Bump was kind enough to share his bluing/French Grey recipe with me.
I have to admit that i am Nervous about the finishing though. I already almost had a heart attack with the ivory. Its not only my first time working with it, Its the first ivory I have actually held in my hands. So wish me luck.

Thanks again, Greg

Gentlemen,

I had to dig this one up from three pages back.
My Internet service has been on and off for a week.
This is the last pic. from Mr. Hurst.
