Engraved Mnandi's

I've seen a few very beautiful engraved Mnandi's. The work looks to be all from the same artist...So much so I had assumed that they were done in house at CRK or sent by CRK to the artisan.

I called CS inquiring and was told no on both accounts.

Are these being done by a retailer? I was considering having some work done on a CRK myself after seeing the fine work on these.

And yes, I'm aware that this would void warranty.

Any insight would be most appreciated.. As would pics.

Thanks in advance.

I own one engraved Mnandi but have no idea who did the engraving. I'm very interested in seeing the responses to this. Here's a pic of mine.

Wow.

Thats a beauty. What is the inlay?

That is the same pattern/style engraving Ive seen on all of them.

Very beautiful. Thank you for posting.

This engraving was done by Bruce Shaw, now retired

The inlay is mammoth bark

On Mnandi almost all the engraving were done upon request of the owner of the knife

The only engraving done by CRK were for a limited period and only the pin.
On the BC was written : ... with decorated pin

Later I will publish some examples

Thank you all for the input and the outstanding examples..

Mr Shaw's work looks brilliant, sorry to find him retired.

wow, that is very nice. I have never seen one done. That top example is amazing work of art. That engraving around the Pivot CR logo looks so clean.

Great examples, Falco57.

sk8n, check and see if your knife has this signature in this location:

This is an original CRK engraving

Oh, wow - is that yours? If so, congrats .... that is amazing. I've only seen photos of one other like it, and have lusted after it ever since.

The decorated pivot is one of my favorite features that CRK offered in the mnandi, but for some reason I keep selling the ones I find....i'm sure there was a good one at the time, though I can't recall them now.

Thank you very much for the pics and the history lesson. Very much appreciated, everyone. Sincerely.

It looks like there is a heart in the Damascus at the back corner of the thumb nick. Beautiful.
