I responded on the use of burins in your other post
It would help if we knew what exactly you are trying to engrave. It can be etched in if complex. Engraved in with a burin. Or you can make a template and use a pantograph engraver if it will be done many times over the years. For a simple kanji, you can get a stamp made by someone like Henry Evers. That is how I mark my kanji.

I have been using chasing chisels previously it does a very good job in the calligraphy style kangi. The only problem is you don't have much room for any errors.! Now a good sharp stamp would be the berrys . Does henry have a website ? or a contact number. thanks........... JIM

I appreciate info

Oops - I should have said "saw tuning anvil" not "saw tuning hammer" - the hammer is just a small one I made that's in the 450g range. The small handled saw tuning anvil weighs about 85lbs and came from Hida Tool.
