Engraving

Does anyone engrave or etch any identification marks on their knives? I do for many reasons but I would like to hear from others why or why not and what you engrave.

I've never had an engraved knife nor ever engraved one myself. If I was going to I'd probably try to keep it out of obvious sight like maybe on the inside of the handle, just for identification purposes should it ever be lost or stolen.
