Here's a quick impression of a new knife I just received. I had seen @molletta post a few in the exchange which intrigued me.
First off it's stabilized wood with US2000 steel which I understand is carbon. The closed length is 3.93". It is more substantial that it appeared on Enigma's website. That's a good thing. The blade is dead center, no half stop, excellent w&t and f&f. It wasn't quite as sharp as it could of been, but a quick strop took care of that. Take a look at the pivot pin. Nice touch.
It took about two weeks to arrive from Poland. It was packed just like you would hope. It arrived in a nice cardboard box. Inside the knife came with a felt slip, polishing cloth and a very nice red felt lined wooden box. All of this wrapped in tons of bubble wrap. Photos or it didn't happen.IMG_3592.JPG IMG_3593.JPG 20180525_125430-01.jpeg

Beautiful, I love the handle material and the mosaic pin is very nice. I wonder if the mosaic is peened, or if it's just a cap over the real pin? I've thought about using mosaic but I figured if I peened it to the knife it'd just mangle the design.

I love the Enigma take on a spear blade too. With that low tip, it's a rally nice balance between a wharncliff and spear. Very nice knife, thanks for sharing your impressions!!

Fantastic! Thank you for the recap, Alan. I really like the blade finish, pivot pin, and of course, the green-dyed handles. Steel liners or brass? I've seen the friction folders that molleta posts; I don't think I've seen these Enigma slip joints.

Steel liners Shawn. One more thing, the blade pull is about 6+ and pinchable.

Nice looking knife, Alan. Looks like a nice wide blade with a modified wharncliffe tip to it. I bet it'll be a good all around EDC.

Totally agree Gary. I thought it would be more of a large gents knife. But the extra size was a pleasant surprise.

Nice review! These knives look very interesting. I’d love to hear a follow up when you’ve spent some time using it.

The toughest use my knives get are food and envelopes and the occasional fish. But it should handle anything that most others would. It's nice and solid. Very pleasantly surprised all around.

Nice looking knife, Alan. The dropped spear (or Zulu spear) is perhaps the most universally useful single blade available. The steel is basically the same comp as Cru-Wear, with 7.5% Chromium, so somewhat stain resistant. It also has Moly, Vanadium and Tungsten, so it's pretty tough stuff.

That's a good looking blade!

Oh man, I love how nicely the scales are matched front and back. That plus having a reasonable pull, no half stops and being pinchable and in a steel similar to Cruwear... I think one of these just got bumped to the top of my want list. Thank you for sharing!

Great newcomer to your knife family. Beautiful handles, lot of quality it seems.

A decent firm too, I contacted them and they very politely got back to me - not always the case these days.

I'm stalking these :D:thumbsup:

Titanium liners.

I've been interested in Enigma knives for a while. Almost got one when they dropped a bunch recently.

Oh nice. I didn't know it was analogous to Cru-Wear
