Hi guys, I have been watching this forum on and off for the last few months but have been unable to post because I use a hotmail e-mail address which the forum doesn't like. I only own one Khukri as yet, it is a modern British Army issue one and a beautiful blade. I recieved it on my 18th birthday, a fairly symbolic gift from my brother, and love it. I have handled many knives of various sorts, from military bayonets and fighting knives to some of the more artistic types, the Khukri has a feel to it that is totally unlike any other blade.

Just one down side, there are so many different spellings of the word Khukri that I rarely manage to use the same one twice in one document (I think this time I was lucky).

Hello Stefan, I'm another newbie from last month. Welcome to the cantina it is just utterly utterly. I can guarantee that you will not be bored in this place. The guys here made me feel immediately welcome and I know they will you too. Congrats for joining in.

Welcome! Watch out for the blem sales, they can become addictive! Khuks are truly something special in the world of knives, I've yet to find anything else with an edge that gets me quite the same way. I'm sure you'll like it here.

Thanks guys, those Blems could become addictive! I guess I am lucky that the £ is so strong at the moment, only £58 for a fantastic Khukri? If anyone can beat that please tell me!

I guess I am sort of lucky that I can't afford to lay out £58 on a monthly basis;) .
 
Let an old retired Marine welcome you to the Cantina. We get along pretty well on this forum. That is why this is my home away from home.
I checked a quite a few forums before I more or less lit here to stay.
This really is the darnedest bunch of guys.
They'll answer question give some good advice when needed. I keep learning with these gents so why go anywhere else. The good thing here is that every one respects each other. If you have been browsing around here you probably know what I mean already.
Sure hope you enjoy it here as much as you like the khuks.:)

Particularly Pappy, never met a marine I didn't like (US, UK or otherwise). Always good to see military types on a board like this.
 
I, like StmmZaum am new to the forum and just ordered my first Khukri from Yangdu today.

I have been reading for a few weeks trying gather as much information as possible about Khukri's so I'd know what to order.

I believe this will be the start of another hobby.

I just wanted to say hello to StmmZaum and to everyone else as well.

Don't let these people alarm you...one need not become addicted to HI khukuris. It is a matter of strength of will and good character, a solid moral base, and personal loyalties to your family and country. Oh, and economics.:)

Welcome to the cantina, Stefan. I'm sure you are going to like the crew. This is a great bunch of people. Be careful...you are going to contract khuk fever and the next thing you know there will be several of them hanging around your house. Me? I'm not infected...I can quit anytime I want to.

BTW, been you your town many times, but not in the last five years. Really need to go back. There's a "couple" of things I haven't seen or done yet.
