I had a CRKT m-16 with the aluminum handles and the single guard/flipper. I carried it for a while, then the liner lock failed. Got to a point where the liner would slip out of place with any pressure on the spine.

Really? My m16-14sf has been used like a fixed blade and the lock is still fine but after a lot of a abuse and big spine whacks and stabbing into wood I did have to tighten the pivot screw because it developed some play.

People have had a vast range of experiences with CRKT's products. Bigfattyt's experience is his and your experience is yours. You are probably both right.

I'm with Charlie mike, I've never been a huge fan of cold steel... BUT they have stepped up their game in the past few years and have started making some really tough well designed knives at pretty good prices

If the big 14zsf is too big, i recommend the m16-10kz. little, ive been carrying it for 2 years. gives as much performance as its big brother.

i like the kershaw blur. Are these really discontinued iv got 2 that are still in the packaging just sitting around waiting to be used by some one. i moved on from these to more expensive knives

the cold steel recon 1 is a very good choice.

pretty light for its size, awesome lock and the aus-8 isnt that bad either
