seems like the hard part is done for you. it comes with a stencil outline you draw on the wood and grind it down and sand it. the drilling is done. what do you guys think. is enzo good. never handled one.

Hey Bige610,

This is a great way to get started in knifemaking / modifying. All you need to finish these kits off is some epoxy, rasps / files, and sandpaper. If you have a belt sander, even better. This is how I got started in knifemaking. Since the handles are pre-drilled, the key to perfecting this kit is quality clamping and symmetrical handle shaping. The first can be accomplished with a few good clamps, and the second with careful sanding. Remember to tape up the blade.

For similar kits and options, check out Ragweed Forge.

If you decide to go with one of these kits, be sure to post pictures for us to enjoy!

All the best,

- Mike

I haven't personally handled an Enzo but they have a pretty good reputation around here. Those kits look to be very complete with good materials throughout; I say go for it.

Kahuna should chime in as he had one [D2 Trapper] which I briefly handled.
It would make fine curls with no Pressure, Very fine curls! As was told to me use Gorilla Glue to fasten the scales follow the instructions for the use of it. Be aware that GG expands so use just enough to do the job.
Sweet Blade!

I just bought the smaller Lynx bare blade from Bensbackwoods. The quality looks fantastic. My only complaint is that the thickness of the stock it is made from seems rather thick. Should make a heck of a nice stout little knife.

thanks now i just need money. maybe i can find some stuff around my house to sell. anyone need a wife? j/k

I handled Kahuna's enzo as well- I think its a fine blade for the price. You can also get a kit with preshaped handles in micarta if you want. Gorilla glue can be messy - be careful

well i attempted to but the scales on tonight. i think i mave have striped one of the screws but i couldnt get it out. we shall see. its drying now and i will sand it tomorrow. i like it a lot. its a beautiful scandi design.

the potential stripping of the pin shouldn't be an issue. as long as the pins are glued on well, they should stay on there. be sure to take pics of the finished product!

i actually skipped the nordic and got the enzo trapper from bens backwoods. it was easier to order since hes about 400 miles from me. i got it two days after i ordered it. i like it so much i plan on getting another one in green micarta. i wanted to get a curly birch one since i really like the traditional scandi feel of it. ill be sure to take pics of it this weekend along with my new jk knife.
