So has anyone had experience with these?

Specs look good for a bush knife:

Steel - O1
Full Tang
Scandi Grind

Blade length = 3.75"; 8.25" overall

Edit: here is the website pic, for those who don't want to follow the link

I've seen some folks that have put them together, ilbruce has done some really wicked ones. All reports that I've heard have been positive. I think you have to watch the grind they come with though, there are different ones.

I'd love to have one.

That looks very promising. That would be a good way of testing different types of steel, if your new to D2 and 01 (which i am) beause you don't get charged for the labor... I also like that wood handle looks VERY good.

That was an excellent thread link tarmix101, don't know why I missed it earlier. Somebody in that thread called it a hybrid between a N. American full tang knife and a traditional Pukko. I like that!

That looks like a fine knife for the money. I need to trade something!!! I havent "handled" a knife in about a year, that would be fun...I am still putting together a forge setup....so I hope to be making a few of my own sometime by winter. Gene

I like them too, and have been considering ordering one (especially after seeing Ilbruche's that he did).

Hmmm yes. I've been thinking about one of these lately too.
I think I'm ready for my first kit knife. Can anybody weigh in on the steel quality/edge holding capability of these relative to other bushcraft type knives. The blade maker appears to be a quality outfit, Right?

LOL I was just looking at these the other day. I was just wondering how to find a sheath for it. It does look promising.

Bensbackwoods sells sheaths that will fit the knife. Its under "sheaths". ;)

Well I just had to go and try one out. I ordered a curly birch O1, and I'll do it right by buying the sheath as well.;)

Let you all know once I put it together. I'll of course post some pics of the assembly, and action pics.

BTW I read several reviews over on British Blades, and BCUK. All were favorable.

Tarmix - I'm going to hold you to that promise :)

I'm really looking forward to your documenting your progress. I think this would make a great thread. I haven't ever completed a kit knife before, but the design features of the knife itself (unique thickness, full tank + scandi grind) are what really tweaked my interest.

I look forward to witnessing your blood, sweat and tears needed complete the knife! Please take as many pics as you can!

Looks great! I'll be ordering one (the 01 one without the panels).
Bensbackwoods is a good seller as well.
I've bought tonnes of stuff from them.

Hmmm wow their prices for Wetterlings have spiked since the last time i checked.
I got my 13.5 Wetterlings for 30-35$ from Bens now its 50$!
Have Wetterlings prices spiked everywhere?
Wish i had bought another one before this happened.

Yeah i like my Wetterlings but for the sake of another 30-40 bucks you can get a GB.
I read somewhere that GB bought Wetterlings, maybe that has something to do with the price hike.
Just noticed Ragweed Forge has removed all the Wetterlings from their site.
