Hey Guys I haven't posted lately, This is one that I am just finishing and for a number of reasons it has taken me way to long to finish, but it is just about done, a couple more touches on the stand and it will finally be finished! I would like to present it here first and get some feedback. As always I appreciate the feedback and take it to heart to improve my work. The knife was inspired by a series we did at church a couple years ago called Epic the Man Series. we had a lot of fun with the series and i came up with this idea. it is an American Bowie, 14.5" OA with a 10" blade forged from the leaf spring of a dodge power wagon, clay tempered. the guard and pommel was fashioned from a railroad spike, the handle is made from wood from a Louisville slugger and the tire tread from a Harley Davidson. the pins were made from 5.56 NATO shell casings. the sheath is hand tooled leather with rattle snake skin overlay.

That kind of has a whole new category. It is a art knife, but it is basically restricted to found materials, and so you can't go to quite the same lengths as you could with a traditional art knife. I like it.

thanks, the sermon series that inspired it came at a particularly bad time, a bad layoff and loss of our home, then the loss of a second job and the loss of the home we moved to when it flooded. that series helped keep me going. we had a lot of fun with the series, car and truck shows, bikes, contest and games. once we eventually found a new home and job i eventually was able to set up the shop again and finally finish this piece. this is a way for me to give something back.

It looks Mad Max style..... Go with what you have.

Personally I would have put the "Epic" on the butt. Big writing on the blade draws my eye to the writing and not the overall knife.

There is a lot of heart and soul in your knife.

Tough Times suck

A very unique knife with some really creative thinking put into it. Great job!!
