EPIC HOG KILLING!! HELI-HOGGIN! NOT for the timid or weak!

I want to get paid doing this. I could spend my year just shooting the pigs left and right while getting paid and sending the left over money to Busse/swamp rat/ Himalayan Imports/etc. :p

Looks like a lot of fun, it doesn't look very sporting but I think some population control is a good thing when it comes to feral hogs.

I understand about people wanting a quick kill, I feel like it is the hunter who has to prove his position as the greater creature by killing cleanly and doing his best not to waist anything .On the other hand that looks like too much fun to be legal ,and the guy in the video does some great shooting and finishes off some pigs when he can, nothing wrong in that video other than the fact I wasn`t there to have a few shots. I can`t see why people would not look into the ten of millions of dollars lost in crops and cattle and understand the NEED for these hogs to be hunted day and night ,even that may never really help. Sad situation overall but some guys are helping and having a hell of alot of fun doing it.

I'm going hog hunting in north Texas next month. Last time I went 3 of us killed 18 in 2 days. Anything under 100 lb was butchered and thrown in the freezer we had on a trailer with a gennie going. Must have been 400 lbs of meat. The big ones were left for the coyotes. The biggest appeared to be over 600 lbs.--KV

I saw this video on YouTube without any explanation last week and didn't know what to think. It looked really fun--a real-life video game! But it looked pretty cruel also. Glad it was posted here to explain the situation better.

I wish you could eat these guys. That question hasn't really been addressed yet. Only this:
I have a friend from Texas; apparently, with pork you have to have it inspected both before and after the slaughter if you want to donate the meat. That is a shame that the meat has to go to waste.

Yeah if they aren't all good to eat or donate then what's the difference between them and tree rats? (squirrels) And think about how much destruction a 600 lb boar has to do to maintain that weight! The hogs have always been there but it seems their population has really been exploding the past 10-20 years. That, and now we are expanding our boundaries on what was their wilderness so they are all over people's properties and farms and not only deep in the brush anymore. Especially with the Apex predators such as wolves and such being gone in those territories it's up to man to control the population. I bet if there was a really profitable way to dispose of them then those suckers would be in check real fast. I see those hunts being posted online and they still want $200-$300 per hog! That's hogwash! The state should pay hunters for how many carcasses they bring in, it would create jobs and income. Now a hog hunt with a knife I'm all about that! Looks like fun with the dogs, Anybody done that with their busse and which one?

Sounds dangerous :p good thing they don't have tusks... do they? I thought I heard some really unsubstantiated story somewhere about a nice little house pig who escaped and went feral and suddenly grew tusks and thick, wiry hair.

Obviously the Busse of choice for hunting these is the War Boar

I haven't had breakfast yet and it made me hungry. Bacon, chops, carnitas, ham, and a ton of baby back ribs up in that video.

If won the lotto that would be my hobby and I would be so big from eating all that yummy pig that I would have to buy and old CH-47F cargo helicopter hang out the back of to do my daly shootin.

Mmmmmm. Pork products.

At first i was kinda disgusted but after a few minutes of non-stop hog killing you realize just how many of the things must be out there. Blast away...PS wow hell of a shot

Oh they have tusks alright...nasty tusks that can gore just as easily as a Busse knife can.

You got that right... I took part in the stitching of a blue healer's belly/side one night. The sow just barely caught her side with a tusk. The wound looked like a surgeon had taken a scalpel to the dog. Their tusks are razor sharp in action... and they know how to use em.

^^^^^^^^^^ OK UYOTG!!!... From Texas Dept. of Wildlife:

"Various diseases of wild hogs include pseudorabies, swine brucellosis, tuberculosis, bubonic plague, tularemia, hog cholera, foot and mouth disease, and anthrax. Internal parasites include kidney worms, stomach worms, round worms and whipworms. Liver flukes and trichinosis are also found in hogs. External parasites include dog ticks, fleas and hog lice." :barf::barf::barf:

Forget donating. I've not met a deer processor yet that will accept a pig due to the state regulations and fear of contamination of the meat they are paid to process. One sick guy plus one lawyer means deer processor turns into ditch-digger overnight.

Many of the diseases they carry are transferable to humans and can cause death in the worst cases. Latex gloves should ALWAYS be worn when dressing/processing a wild porker. Still, they are delicious when cooked properly. Just cook it all the way through and enjoy without worries. :D

I guess there is a reason half the world won't eat em... but then again, those poor bastids have never eaten bacon. So sad.

Guys nobody said this was a hunting video, so relax. This is PEST CONTROL. And not for the timid or weak, as was posted in subject line. So not looking for righteous or negative comments please. This is a run and gun shooting video of how some texas ranchers are dealing with their Hog overpopulation in texas, a pest eradication. Don't take it personally just thought some of you would enjoy an epic heli hoggin video. If not I will take it down, or those of you who take offense please don't watch it. Thank you.

Well said. I am with you on this. It is Pest Control.

What is the terrain like in North Texas ? Flat or hilly with vantage points ?

Is there a bounty that a farmer would pay for each dead Hog ? If anyone on here knows the sort of bounty figures offered ( or if any are offered at all ) please chime in ...

If it is generally a case of farmers wanting to sell the shooting .... then fair enough .... but please chime in to say so ...
