Epic Lock Stick

That does not make much sense other than try to justify a poorly designed or manufactured folding knife. Does it imply other nonsticky frame lock folders are less safer (Hinderer, ZT, and Spyderco's own ti military, etc.)?

it will break in over time. my first one has. my new one is just as sticky as my last one and same lockup, etc.

just like my emersons, they all stuck and eventually wore in from use. when it does you'll miss that feeling of extra security(perception) of it being sticky and harder to disengage and safer.:)

now mind y'all i don't slam it open either...i just open it what i call normally. no wrist jerking or hard thumb snap pushing to make it fly open......so i can't comment on those methods on how bad the stick is or would be.

Mine broke in over time. That means if you are impatient, you can sit there and open and close thing 1000 times or try graphite or try sharpie or try lube. The issue has been discussed ad nauseam in other posts. I personally don't mind the breaking-in period, but it seems like the issue of lock stick is now a daily topic.

They stick at first in an interesting way. Mine did at first and I put some oil on it. Then it got worse, I washed it out with hot soapy water and then a dab of oil. Fixed!
It's an excellent blade and overlooking it because of confusion and interwebby whining does it a great disservice. I love mine, see it as the hidden perfect folding chefs knife which everyone seems to want but apparently can't recognize when they see it. I carried mine a lot at first and can attest at a farmers market Apples, bread, and Salami just fall apart in front of it. It's not very discreet as I noticed a few people notice the apple fall apart even though I palmed the blade. If I had to guess I would say tight tolerances and grit or locktite being partially dissolved is the culprit to early lock stick.
I hope it's not discontinued, at it's current discount it is an incredible deal.

No whining here. I have just never experienced lock stick to this degree. If I have to use both hands to close that's not a deal breaker. After all how many years (I'm 60 years old) did all of use have to use both hands to open and close folders. I am just looking for advice on this particular knife. I never sell knives so the K2 will see use in some manner. As stated before it's a slice miester. Thanks for all responses.

I also have a K2 I bought over a year ago and I have to use two hands to close the dam thing. I have been thinking about calling Spyerco and see what they say.

I got my K2 in a trade. The guy that I traded said it didn't have a sticky lock, yea right. I locked and unlocked a Lot. It's fine not about 98%

of the time. When it does stick I reach around with my fore finger and unlock the lock. I'm still thinking about getting another1, but I don't think I'd

use it enough. I'll spend $150 on another knife.

I got mine discounted to 144.95 free shipping from dealer well known here. I have a large Spydie collection and thought the K2 might be discontinued so jumped on that deal. Wanted to see how the 10V performed also.

Mines been in the back pocket a couple days now. Havnt really had a chance to really put it to work but it carries very nicely.

Just got mine today, and after having it in hand I can totally see why they wanted intentional lock stick(and boy does it stick), a blade this big ,they WANT you to be using two hands to close it.

Received my second one today overall just as perfect as the first one. Seems like it will break in a little faster as the stick is faint.
