(With Mark's permission, I am posting this for a friend and fellow forum member.)

I have a friend who is no longer making knives due to health issues. He is selling off some of his power tools. Among them are a Jet 2 HP Mill drill (JMV18), a Burr King variable speed 960 grinder with knifemaker attachment, and a variable speed 9" disc grinder.

The tools are about 100 miles north of Phoenix. Because of the difficulty of moving and packaging the tools for someone with major back problems, I would assume that pick-up is preferred.

Pricing information would come from him. So, if interested, please email me and I will forward his email addy to you.

Thanks. fitzo1 (at) ameritech (dot) net

I've been informed of a number of other items being sold:

1) Older standard 4x6 metal cutting H/V bandsaw like we all use.

2) Import woodcutting bandsaw (93.5" blade) that has had the motor replaced with a Baldor. Original Chinese motor comes with it, too.

3) A "boatload" of old Japanese vacuum-melted 440C in 1/8-1/4" thickness in a variety of widths. 6 foot bars. Some is surface ground.
This is the good, old steel that is much cleaner than any of the new 440C. Good stuff.

4) There are also a variety of hand tools typical of a stock-removal knifemaker's shop, such as files, hammers, vises, center marking guage, etc.

This would be a good opportunity for a newer maker to go for a visit with a bit of cash in hand and come away with a fair deal on a lot of tools that will eventually find their way into your shop for much more $$ if purchased new.

Boy, I'll 2nd that notion

Wish I was closer to Phoenix  (much warmer there too ;))

Can the steel be shipped? I wouldn't mind a flat rate box stuffed with 12" pieces.

He only mentioned it's in 6 foot bars. Since he's not been able to work in the shop, I don't think he intends to cut it up, but rather sell it as is.

Rick, Robert, I have sent you replies with his email addy. Thanks for inquiring.
