Hello all- If possible would someone please post/send a close up photo of the ES1-M liner lock in the locked position. I've never had one and I'm curious to see the thickness.
Thank you, Donald.

I guess this would fall to me.

The following pictures represent my ES1-M, others may vary. The ES1-M Is basically a slightly larger Commander with a Chisel grind. The scales and liners are about the same thickness as a first generation Commander.

Here's mine from the bottom:

You'll notice that the liner opposite the lock arm is slightly contoured. My proto Commander has this same contour. None of my regular Commanders do.

Here it is shot of the knife angled slightly. Please excuse the picture hook used to prop it:

You'll notice that the lock arm don't have the serration that all the production knives do. All of the ES1-Ms that I have seen are like this. The proto Commander has the serrations.

That work for ya' Donald?

For those that are not familiar with the ES1-M, here are some other pictures to show the grind and size.

John- YOU-ARE-THE-BEST !!
This is exactly what I was looking for and answers a couple of questions that were going through my mind about the liners.

Thanks again, Donald.

Hey John,
I have to chip in my 2 cents worth.
I have a pre '98 ES1-M with black blade and an ES1-M with a statin blade from recent New York show( first mentioned in forum,so I believe with year 2000 mark under spec war logo), both have serrations on the locking arm.
I hope Ernie or Derek can clarify this disparity.
Hopes this gets some others to put in their comments.
Best wishes,
Oliver

I can tell ya' that Tamishigiri's and Nyeti's are like mine, no serrations.

I should have also mentioned that the Ti liners on my "3P" Commander and on my ES1-M are Bead Blasted. All of my regular Commanders are plain Ti.

John - Thanks for the Pix!

I've always enjoyed your comments and pix that you shared, makes people like me who doesn't own one feels closer to owning an actual piece.

Eric.

My '98 Commander (#844) and my black blade ES1-M both have serrations on the lock arm.
My satin blade ES1-M has no serrations on the lock arm.

All I know is, I want one...I'm crying...Commander freak...is <sniffle> nothing without Commander on steroids.
