ESEE 4,5 or 6?

I've owned the 4, handled the 5 and without hesitation can say I'd choose the 6. Just my 2 cents. I feel the handle on the 4 is a tad small and the 5 is just way overbuilt. I would think the 6 is close to perfect. They're all good knives in their own rights though.

I never did get to read that post you deleted in CRK forum...lol Maybe you were going to chew me or others out.

I tend to be a bit mouthy at times, it's out of pure frustration regarding issues that I think are "dumb" or where a person in a position of power makes decisions that impact others and doesn't give a d*mn - "just because" they can.

The gentleman in question may be a wonderful person but money will put a smile on anyone's face. Usually their behavior leaves clues about who they really are and what they're about. Just my $.02 :)
I too can be confrontational. I got into it with one guy on there. I was making fun of how idiotic and how they act like spoiled little brats when someone doesn't share their point of view. I was getting tired of then thinking their crap doesn't stink and how they treat people like you and me on there. It was never directed towards you but I just didn't feel like getting into it again so I deleted it.

If you want all around, the 4 or the 6. If you want a tank, the 5. If you are doing a lot of batoning, the 6 would be better. Chopping.. none of them are really good at it. You can get the job done, but none are choppers.

i just got the 5 and find it much heavier than i wouldve wanted. it is totally badass, but i would prob get the 6 instead! gonna get the 6 as well actually!!

5 !!!! I also have 4 but its small for me , 4 has smaller handle and not very comfortable .

If you want to chop forget about the others and get a chopper:

Now if you want a nice all around knife for camping get something handy, easy to carry and control:

Or my favorite, the RC-3 MIL pocket, pocket clip attachement, peracord lash it or full sheath!

All you really need to do for making a fire is something small to make shavings and usually there's firewood available for the picking. It's rare to have to baton thick limbs or small trees where I'm from anyway. Heck I made one with a Rat-1, $25 to $30 folder!

Start it opened:

Release the lock to take tension off and use the blade as a wedge.

Take the shavings you cut with the little knive and pile 'em on a cotton ball and strike a firesteel to ignite! Easy peasy...:D

that's an excellent tip! nice to know i don't have to destroy my folder even in an emergency fire building. you need to post that in the w&ss forum too. never seen that excellent idea before.

I can't take credit for it. Our fellow BF member BLUNTRUTH shows it in his video at the 6 minute mark.

I thought I'd try it with my Rat-1, my most humble folder - a single cotton ball and cheap fire steel that comes bunlded in an Izula kit. Works great! :)

Kyeg, you should go ahead and buy the one you like the best first. Eventually, you will have them all anyway. By the time you get finished handling the first one, that addiction formula will be cruising through your blood stream full force & you won't be able to fight it, so start saving your pennies . . . :)
All of them are great knives, can't go wrong with any of them.
Be safe.

I agree that they're all good knives. But the handle on the 4 is too short for me as well and the BK-2 admirably fills the slot in my collection that would otherwise be occupied by the 5. So I'd also choose the 6 without hesitation.
