RC5 for the win... whether its specs are better or not, the knife has heart. It's something you want on your person all the time once you own it, because you know without a shadow of a doubt that it is up to the task and will not fail. A true SERE knife.

I absolutely agree. And I think you might have to have that SERE mentality in order to truly appreciate this tool.

If you already own a huge blade the ESEE-4 will be better for bushcraft. The 5 is a pilots primary knife.

It vexes me that people don't have that SERE mentality, yet they still practice firecraft in their backyard and talk theory all day long.
