If I remember correctly, ESEE doesn't actually do the coatings, they are done by Rowan Manufacturing. I don't believe ESEE or Rowan offers re-coating as a service. That said, your best bet would be to contact them directly.

If ESEE/Rowan don't offer it as a service, you should be able to find a local company that can do Powder Coating for you. It might not be as good as the coating from the factory.

The coating on the ESEE knives will wear. Its normal.

Here is my IZULA after some lengths of wood.

There is a little wear to the ant - literally:)

It just adds to the charm of the knives IMO.

The ESEE knives look even better with wear and eventually you can have fun stripping what is left of the coating and watch the patina work on the knife.

Great knives all.

The coating will wear with use and this is normal. If you want, you can pay to have it recoated coated evetually (would recommend Duracoat), strip it (keep it lightly oiled to prevent rust) or leave it alone (keep it lightly oiled to prevent rust on the worn parts).

....well....for me anyway....I think coated blades are for looks!.....if it's a user.....forget the coating....otherwise you'll end up with a "partially" coated ugly blade....

Here is a pic of a couple ESEE knives I have with some coating wear. I think it looks better when you beat it up a little.
