ESEE 6 Knife

ESEE 6 is a very nice knife.

Though I personally don't like the fit of its squarish handles. Otherwise I would have bought it. I've heard that the G10 replacement scales from TheKnifeConnection.net are an improvement.

I bought a Doug Ritter RSK Mk2 Perseverance (aka Becker BK12) instead.

I love mine. I've had it for over 7yrs. Used the hell out of it, batoning and chopping. Never felt the need for new scales although the aftermarket ones mentioned above do look nice and are contoured. Might try them one day, who knows. I removed the blade coating. The coating was grabbing the wood while batoning. Works much better now. Rowen knows how to heat treat 1095.

dont have a 6 but if the 4 is any indication its an awesome knife as well...
I also have the 3 that I use for skinning. On the way back home from the deer lease, my brother ordered one for himself.

The 6 is an awesome knife! I get the thing about the scales though I could get by with the stock ones just fine. Custom sheath is also nice.

Love my RC 6. If I was on a budget I wouldn't hesitate to buy ESEE. I have 3 4 and 6 and like them all.

If you're in the market for the ESEE 6, you might also look at the Becker bk 12/Ritter mk2. Its manufactured by rowen (same as the ESEE knives), and has the same warranty. Its a 6in blade, 1095, it just has the Becker handle design and doesn't have a large finger choil.

Personally i really like the Becker handle ergos, and dislike finger choils, so it fits my needs/preferences better. Its just worth mentioning to see if it fits yours better as well.

Otherwise, I hear great things about the esee 6.
